The Den Journey of a Lifetime

(WARNING: THIS POST GETS CORNY BEYOND POSSIBILITY. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.)

Hey Jammers! Today, my friend sent me a Jam a Gram telling me to follow her. Thinking not much of it, I followed her to a den called seasonaltreeshop.

What I soon realized was that there was a single den portal at the end of this den. Me and my friend both went through it to find...

A den called thethinkingroom filled almost entirely with wiggly book cases, with the uncovered spot home to yet another den portal, which in turn led to...

A den solely filled with portals! Each one led to only one den though, which was:

A den called randomplushieshop!
So me and my friend journeyed through the endless dens and had our computers seriously lagged in the process, but we were determined to reach the end.

I have documented screenshots from this EPIC journey to who knows where in this post:

The next room was a Nyan Cat pillow sculpture. (I'm guessing this whole string of dens was made in 2012 or something)

And appropriately, the next room is a pillow sculpture of Tac Nayn, Nyan Cat's supposedly evil counterpart.

In a change of scenery, Tac Nayn's portal goes to a survival island den.

Me and my trusty green hamster Jellyninja had to survive on a single pillow in an ocean surrounded by sharks. We eventually made it out to swim to the next portal, leading us to...

A snowy icy bakery of 2 year old birthday cakes!

And in the next portal, here we have theshopsmessage, a pillow arrangement of words that say "THIS IS RANDOM." Thanks, whoever made this!

Our journey takes us to this next room, full of ancient scrolls:

I have no idea what secrets each may hold... What do you think? Oh, here's a secret: click one to get a magnifying glass because the text is too dang small for even the magnifying glass.

The next couple rooms are from the same series:

As a break in scenery (and finally a picture with my friend) we found the discoshop, complete with a multicolor dance floor made out of shelves as well as a deliberately flashing "disco shelf" as a disco ball. (You can't tell, but they stacked multiple different colored shelves on top of one another so they bug out and flash)

This next one is like a complete opposite to the disco shop. Welcome to the wildlifeshop, a place full of vines and trees and flowers and distant bird calls.

The next one is a bit different:

If you're hungry, start with the breakfastshop! X)

Go through the portal, and into a land of flags with pretty swirly designs! :)

But watch out for the next portal...

Immediately upon arrival, phantoms will DESTROY you. Maybe they won't, but I was being so corny with this post that they might as well have had the right to blast me.

But you may need to go to the courtroom to settle legal issues about your phantom-related injuries:

But after that's over and done with, you get to go play with colorful barrels!!! Yaaaayy!!!

And to wrap everything up, the shop shop, equipped with each item focused on in each room.

But it's not over yet!

And in the tableshop den, there's a portal that goes back to the seasonal den shop, wrapping this sacred journey up into a neat little knot.

I have no idea who made this, but whoever you are (if you're reading this) I thank you. :D

The Pretty Flower Pattern!

Hey Jammers! I've tried to clear some stuff up enough to post, and by "stuff" I mean my almost unstoppable laziness. It always has and always will bring me great joy to post, but sometimes I, uh... have trouble getting up? I hope you understand.

But that mess is (hopefully) over now, so I'm back to posting every day! (with exceptions)

So today is a particularly lazy day on Animal Jam, as most non-update days are. So I'm gonna throw in some non-AJ-related stuff that I've been doing, so you can know I've been wasting my time on other than bloggin'.

But first comes the info. I actually have something good today, by the way!

Here we have today's daily item: The Knight Helmet, sold in Jam Mart Clothing. There have also been some items I've missed over the past few days, but they weren't anything special so I'll leave them be, for now. :)

And now we have the something interesting! It's a glitch, actually, but it's the special type of glitch that everyone loves: the type that tells the future!

Important note: This information is not mine, the screenshot is not mine. This glitch does not work anymore, so this screenshot is sourced to the Animal Jam blog, Animal Jam Flash. Click that link to go to the original post! :D

A few days ago, it used to be that if you tried to make a tiger, a white rabbit with a pastel flower pattern would appear instead. Things would get buggy after that and you wouldn't be able to make a tiger, so it's no wonder why AJHQ removed it.

It's widely hypothesized that this will be something released in April as some sort of "Limited Edition" seasonal thing, like pet reindeer or monthly gifts used to be. March showers bring April flowers...?

OR this will be released in MAY and some rainy pattern will be released in April, so *gasp* April showers will bring May flowers. :D

You know, at this point I'm starting to think that glitches like these are intentionally implemented, just to get us excited. It's a great method and it's also great that AJHQ isn't so in a bubble that they don't recognize that most info about AJ spreads like wildfire through user-run blogs. It's a great opportunity to get people excited! I know I'm already pumped for these, even if they're only for bunnies!

So again, screenshot credit to Animal Jam Flash. :3

So anyway, in other news: Graham's Imagination Fair is still going on, so be sure to enter! I'm still hoping I'll get time to enter a drawing or two. :)

And now, here's what I've been doing for the past few days that I've been neglecting this blog:

So as you probably don't know already, the only thing I like doing on Minecraft is building towns/villages/cities. I like planning them out in detail in the margins of my schoolwork and then coming home and building.

So far with this one, I've built the sacrificial structure (which will probably go unused), the food shop, and an armory, which I'm not showing because it's so ugly.

It still needs a lot of work. I'm going to build a school, a library, some homes, and a few more shops. I'll probably also make a hot spring by the stream against that one mountain that you can't see.

What should I call this town in progress?

There's an app I'm kind of obsessed with called CocoPPa. It's one of those apps that let's you redesign your app icons on your phone with ones that other users have made. My account is called "Doomy" and I post cutesy hand drawn icons. I need a better program to make them in because trying to make them transparent in photoshop leaves a pixel-y edge, but other than that I think they're okay.

If you get the app, follow me and you can request me to draw icons that you want. :)

So that's all for now, see you in Jamaa!

No More Gray!

Hey Jammers! This is a quick post just to notify you about something interesting on AJ:

Beta user player cards are (at least for now) not grayed out! You can search up some simple beta users and go to their dens and stuff!

Seeya later!

Help Orca Whales!!

❀ LINK TO SIGN ANONYMOUS PETITION AT BOTTOM OF POST!

Last year or a couple of years ago, I used to do routine informational posts that centered around environmental or animal issues in real life. I stopped doing that for a while because... I don't know? I just wasn't up for it.

But recently I've found something that you all may like to know about: you can help.

Help with what, though?

Did you read the title of this post?

Orca whales, also known as killer whales are native to the oceans and need a ton of space to survive which can only be found in the vastness of the ocean. They have been observed in their natural environment forming complex societies and are really quite playful, in their own environment.

(images taken from Wikipedia)

But maybe their playfulness became the incentive among humans to capture them, put them in tanks way too small for them to naturally thrive, and forcefully train them to perform tricks that are foreign to their natural behavior. Like making a human stretch in ways that strain every muscle, it's possible, but can cause damage and pain.

For this post, I'm looking at you, SeaWorld.

❝ Organizations such as World Animal Protection and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society campaign against the practice of keeping them in captivity.

In captivity, they often develop pathologies, such as the dorsal fin collapse seen in 60–90% of captive males. Captives have vastly reduced life expectancies, on average only living into their 20s.[d] In the wild, females which survive infancy live 50 years on average, and up to 70–80 years in rare cases. Wild males who survive infancy live 30 years on average, and up to 50–60
 years.[210]

Captivity usually bears little resemblance to wild habitat, and captive whales' social groups are foreign to those found in the wild. Critics claim captive life is stressful due to these factors and the requirement to perform circus tricks that are not part of wild killer whale behavior.[211]

Wild killer whales may travel up to 160 kilometres (100 mi) in a day, and critics say the animals are too big and intelligent to be suitable for captivity.[157]

Captives occasionally act aggressively towards themselves, their tankmates, or humans, which critics say is a result of stress.[190]

Between 1991 and 2010, the bull orca known as Tilikum was involved in the death of three people, and was featured in the critically acclaimed 2013 film, Blackfish.[212] Tilikum has lived at SeaWorld since 1992.[213][214][215][216]

(Quotes taken from Wikipedia)

It's unnatural for orca whales to attack people in the wild. Completely unnatural. Then why do they do this? Well, imagine being cramped up in a small cardboard box for 21 years. Your natural environment is your home, where you thrive, but a box? For 21 years? With little to no contact with other people? Well that's a proven recipe for full-blown insanity, and insanity is just why Tilikum killed those three people.

By now if you've even bothered to read all the way, you probably feel really depressed at this point.

But I never write up big saddening posts like this without offering solutions, because there are many.

First priority, boycott SeaWorld.

SeaWorld may be the source of many human family outings and entertainment watching these beautiful creatures leap toward the heavens with dead hope that they may join the clouds someday with their own families. SeaWorld is a place of suffering and great pain and sadness for nonhuman creatures. Because while the name "SeaWorld" tries to suggest otherwise, small tanks filled with chlorine blue water is the weakest, saddest imitation of the sea's freedom.

So you're probably thinking that I have some sort of petition for you to sign, and yes I do! It's not of my creation, but it's on a legitimate site that I mentioned a while ago in another post. This petition is incredibly easy to sign and best of yet, anonymous. Here's how the sign process goes in a single picture:

You can just make up a fake name, click "Don't display my name" or both! All you need is an email. Other petitions require a whole lot of other stuff so this one is pretty safe and easy to sign!

And another plus side: it's more than halfway reached it's goal!

So if you really care about ending this intense injustice, click here to go to the petition!

The link/website is 100% safe, I assure you. :)

Stand up for what's right!

Full-room Game + Lions!

Hey Jammers! Today is a great update that I did not want you to miss. We have lions back of course, as well as a new Conservation Museum exhibit, new trading features, and AJ's first ever full-room game: Best Guess!

So let's get to the Journal:

Go become a lion today, for the small (large) price of ten diamonds and a membership! Not trying to be bitter, I just don't really like diamonds!

Some helpful trading tips to hopefully dumb down all the scamming. Thanks, AJHQ! For real this time!

This is a group game accessible under the party tab. Like any party, you have to wait until its time.

This game is all about True or False questions, like Temple of Trivia except simpler. You move to the phantom X to answer NO and you move to the grass ✓ to answer YES. Questions appear at the top. :)

Check out the new amazing lion mini book in the Chamber of Knowledge! There's also a new layout. Different mini book sections for land animals, aquatic animals, and sky animals:

But don't forget about the lions!:

I think a lot of people on AJ are kind of under appreciative of the art that is in AJ. Just look at everything!! Like come on, haha.

And if you're a member with diamonds, go buy the Lucky Armor set in the Diamond Shop! And speaking of the Diamond Shop...

Did you know you can buy Seasonal Adventure music in the Diamond Shop? You probably already knew that, but thats just in case you didn't.

Part 2 of under appreciated things on AJ: I've always loved the conservation museum. I think it's the colorful tiles on the ground or something, its one of my favorite rooms.

Learn about different types of animals native to the massive continent of Africa! Plus an animated short lion video. :)

And before I go, I just want y'all to know that there was a wacky bug with AJ's system and the "Pi Day Weekend ONLY" items are for sale right now.

I just looked at this screenshot again and I'm wondering how I got that many gems. Then I remember how I never buy anything and play Spot On 24/7. Yep.

See you in Jamaa!

S.T.E.A.M. + NM Clothing Ideas :)

Hey Jammers! Some of you may have wondered over the past weeks why I haven't been posting daily. The answer to this is one that you're probably very familiar with: laziness. Laziness and schoolwork. Laziness and schoolwork as well as a few distractions, ya know.

I know that I've neglected this blog too regularly to apologize and expect you to forgive me, so this is just to let y'all know that this blog normally does post daily and nothing wacky is going on.
That is all. :)

Anyway, the new item is in celebration of Spring impending! In two days, officially.

It's so... so pretty... ohmygosh... wow. This is one of the few times where I've wished that a member item was nonmember, like, desperately. Tears are streaming down Countess Spookypanda's face.

In other news, I checked the D.E. a couple of days ago and it turns out they're doing an interesting little contest involving S.T.E.A.M., or science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Where I am it's just called S.T.E.M. because no one cares about art in the schools, haha.

Here's a cute graphic from AJHQ:

Click to make the image big enough to read. :D

So this cutely named "Imagination Fair" is all about you sending in stuff related to any of the categories listed in the acronym "STEAM"

Adds more education to Animal Jam! :D

We all have plenty of time because all entries are due April 22nd and each winner is awarded five diamonds! A great prize for those who care about diamonds. The other prize is just the small recognition, which is what I'm aiming for when I enter for the art section. B)

Good luck everyone who's gonna enter!

Anyway, the 2nd part of this post: the nonmember clothing ideas! This time I won't be naming them dumb things, for once. :D

Lets all look forward to the update tomorrow!
