Gaaahh

Hi Jammers! I'm really sorry for not posting lately. I have like 6 or 7 big projects due so I've been devoting my time to that. Very busy!!!

I'm going away for a few days, but I'm getting AJ Stream's second author furryfruit73 to post as much as she can.

I've been disorganized with this blog lately, but that's just because all these projects are wearing me out. Sometimes I feel the need to repeat that over and over because I LOOOOVE this blog, you guys, and AJ and I wanna let you know that nope, I am nowhere near quitting! AJ blogging has become less popular now and I really wanna keep going. :)

Summer vacation is coming up for me, but unlike last summer I'm going to be doing a lot of stuff. Not as much to create a hiatus, but for a couple weeks I won't have internet. Hopefully by then I'll have a few authors!

On that note, I wanna thank the Jammers who signed up to be authors. I'm gonna choose the authors when I come back on Tuesday. Right now, it looks pretty good!

That's a bunch of random stuff I wanted to say before I go to sleep. Thank you all for your continuous support, and I'll see you in Jamaa! :D

New Plaques + Interesting Stuff

Hey Jammers! So far only one person has sent in a form to be an author, so there are still plenty of spaces open!

Click here for details. It's pretty easy! The form consists of just a few general questions ("How often can you post?" "What's your favorite thing about Animal Jam?" etc.) that you just answer and send to an email address. The email address is in this linked post!

The reason why I'm being so annoying about this is that with all my school work, it's really difficult to post daily. I couldn't post yesterday and Thursday because I had a whole project to do that went way into the night. Blah. -_-

I kinda just wanna keep my promise of daily updates, you know? Plus, a couple of you have expressed interest in being an author in the past. I thought this would be a little more popular, LOL ^_^;

Alright, onto some news!!!!

There's a new item sold in Jam Mart Clothing:

Graduation's coming up pretty soon for a lot of people. Maybe you could wear this cap to commemorate it?

If I had an owl, I'd get this. I used to have (or still have?) a little plush owl with a graduation cap on. This hat reminds me that I should probably go look for it. XD

Over in Jam Mart Furniture, some more returning additions to the Hair Salon theme:

And all the way down in the gold-laden depths of Kani Cove, some lost-and-found treasures are for sale:

That turtle is so wonderfully patterned! It makes me wish that more people explored the underwater lands.

Shortly after the release of the offline plaques, some new diamond ones have been introduced!

These new plaques are now awarded to "Jammers who are specifically featured on the Daily Explorer." This would mean that Jammers featured in a group– like with Jammer Snaps or art slideshows –would be given the regular plaques.

Ah, so complicated!

Along the subject of new plaques, a long-unreleased one has made its appearance recently:

The Epic Den plaque! I guess AJHQ had been saving it. :0

Alright, back to Animal Jam Stream.

A week or so ago I put up a poll asking "What's your favorite adventure?" and got some interesting results.

Quite predictably, The Forgotten Desert clocked in at first place, but second place was where it got interesting:

Return of the Phantoms!? I didn't know that it was so popular! I also would have thought that Meet Cosmo would garner more votes, but it only got one! Interesting. 0_0

So, I have a question for everyone who voted Return of the Phantoms: what do you like about it? What's the quirk about it that makes it your favorite? Comment, guys! I'm really interested! :D

That's all for now, Jammers. See you in Jamaa!

New Scam To Watch Out For

Hey Jammers! If you're interested in being an author for Animal Jam Stream, click here for more info. :)

Something really cool is coming this June – Animal Jam Figurines! You may know of them already, but a YouTube video has recently been uploaded giving us all a closer look at what these upcoming toys will be like. If you'd prefer to watch the video, click here!

Or if you'd prefer to look at pictures instead...

Okay, these are straight up adorable. I'm loving that little ladybug on the koala's ear, too! Correct me if I'm wrong, but does a ladybug item already exist, or is it a preview of an item to come in the future? Hmmm... O_O

I'm loving the color, the glitter, the detailed and vibrant patterns, but I'm kinda worried that AJ will go a little overboard with the merchandise. I may be getting a little too critical here, but I hope that the material aspect of AJ (the toys) won't override what AJ's supposed to be about. Y'know, nature and making friends?

That's kind of a worst-case scenario, so for now I'll be excited. Still, it's something to think about. :O

Moving on, y'all are probably wondering what new tricks the scammers of Jamaa have cooked up to get ahold of your pixel-y items. Because trading is tricky business as it is, I'm going to explain this new scam so you can watch out for it.

Graphic credit to Rainbowcat1

This scam is simple and really annoying. It goes like this:

The scammer has two alternate accounts, A and B.

A puts a lot of rare items on their trade list, while B puts a random item on their trade list, usually one that's not in stores. For example, a Cheese Hat.

They both go out to the same area, typically standing close together.

A says "Trade me a Cheese Hat!" or "List for Cheese Hat!"

B says "Cheese Hat on trade!"

The Jammers surrounding would see A's trade list and would want their rares, so they would trade B to get the Cheese Hat to trade A for their rares.

But B is not going to give away the Cheese Hat for what it's worth. B will force whoever wants the Cheese Hat to overpay their rare items.

Once someone gives up a ton of rares for a Cheese Hat and the trade is accepted, both A and B leave. Whoever was just scammed just traded away their rare items for a Cheese Hat.

Whenever you recognize something like this going on, know that it's too good to be true. Report and block whoever's scamming, and feel free to snitch on them and yell "DONT TRADE THEM, IT'S A SCAM" to warn others.

If you're a scammer and you want to try this out, don't. You'll look like a fool and everyone will know exactly what you're doing.

That's all for now, Jammers! Stay safe in Jamaa!

New Jam a Gram Glitch!

Hey Jammers! No one has entered yet to become an author. If you didn't see my last post yet, click here for more details. C'mon, dude! Be the first to send in your form! :D

As described in this post title, a fun glitch with Jam-a-Grams has recently been discovered! This glitch came about with the introduction of the new Summer Carnival collection of seasonal Jam-a-Grams, as it only works with one of them.

There's two sections of text on a Jam-a-Gram: the set message– like "Dolphin divers!" –and the customizable message. This glitch allows you to change up the set message to anything you want– no chat limitations!

Of course, the catch is that you really can't send it to anybody, and that it only works with the raccoon Summer Carnival JAG. Still, what makes it so cool is how easy it is to do it, as if AJHQ put it there purposely... Hmm...

So here's what you do:

If you don't have one in your mailbox already, have someone send you the new raccoon Summer Carnival Jam-a-Gram.

Once you have one in your mailbox, go to it and click the "I love the Summer Carnival!" text and one of those very obvious flashing lines will appear, allowing you to type whatever the heck you want!

You can even type symbols you can't in chat! I took it upon myself to type a bear emoticon. Or a koala. You decide!

Because you can't really do anything with a Jam a Gram once you type on it, I guess you can just sit back... admire it... maybe take some pictures. It's all up to you!

That's all for now, Jammers! I'll be sure to add this one to the Glitches page this week.

See you in Jamaa!

Wanna be an AJ Stream author?

Hey Jammers! Are you interested in writing some posts for Animal Jam Stream? If yes, then read on for some requirements and a copy-and-paste form!

It would be cool if you'd read this carefully. There's not a lot of information, don't worry! I just don't wanna cause any avoidable confusion, 'tis all. C:

What you need to be an author on this blog is just pretty general: you need a Blogger account and you need to only post about AJ-related stuff. If you don't have a Blogger account, they're really easy to make!

Now, onto the actual form. To fill it out, copy and paste the questions into an email, answer them, and send your answers to countessspookypanda@gmail.com. Remember, that's 3 S's! :P

Keep in mind that I won't make everyone who fills out the form an author. This won't be anything personal, I swear! I've gone a bunch of years only writing this blog on my own, so I'm probably only gonna pick two or three authors, depending on how many people enter.

Also, I'd like if you send the email from the Gmail account attached to your Blogger account. It would just make things a lil' easier. C:

Alright, below this dotted line is the form! A thanks in advance to all those who enter! :D

--------------------------------------------------------------

What's your Animal Jam username?:

Is this the Gmail address attached to your Blogger account?:

Why are you interested in posting for AJ Stream?:

What's your favorite thing about Animal Jam?:

What days of the week will you be willing to post?:

------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for reading, Jammers. I hope to see you on AJ Stream soon! :)

Lots of Changes!

Hey Jammers! Again, apologies for the late update, but I think it's time to put a stop to all of these late updates once and for all. In a good way, I promise!

I think I'm going to get a couple more authors to post on this blog. I'll still post when I can, but for a couple days of the week I'll have someone post. If you're interested in being an author, scroll down and I'll talk more about it at the bottom. ^-^

But first off, let's take a look at the new Jamaa Journal, and all of the ~terrifying~ changes to come!

Hyenas have returned from their travels to Jamaa! I wonder what it's like outside of Jamaa... what other mysterious lands are out there that these hyenas have seen? Spooky...

Welcome back, Summer Carnival! I believe this is the third or fourth time around that the Summer Carnival's been in Jamaa. Run over there with your buddies for some free cotton candy, fun games, and cool prizes! Speaking of prizes, here they are:

If you're wondering "why the heck are the items displayed so weirdly?" then just scroll down and find out...

Accessory previews have been added to clothing shops all around Jamaa! Consequentially, they've also switched up the look of Jam Mart Clothing:

AAAAHHH!!! CHANGE!!!! SCARY, SCARY CHANGE!!!!! >_<

Like when the panda's "play" action was changed, it's gonna take some time for me to get used to this.

However, this seems like a pretty useful function! I'd actually thought of this a while ago when I first joined AJ, in response to how wacky Heart Lockets look on pandas. Y'all know what I mean.

"You're supposed to wear necklaces, not eat them!"

"Too late. *slurp* :)"

Oh boy, a new animal! I finished the puzzle just enough to see it and it looks like... a PIG? Well, that was unexpected!

I was thinking that one of the other choices for the last animal survey (sloths or ostriches) would be next. Still, how exciting! I wonder how big these pigs will be...

And wrapping up, polar bears will be going on a journey to the mysterious lands beyond Jamaa starting May 26th. If you're interested, make sure to turn into one before that date!

Now that the Jamaa Journal is wrapped up, here's some information about the possibility of becoming an author on AJ Stream:

Soon, most likely tomorrow, I'll post a form and an email address to send that form to. ANYONE who wants to be an author can send in a form! As for the content of the form, it'll just be some general questions like "What days of the week will you be able to post?" and all that jazz. This blog has been feeling a little lonely lately so I think having just a couple more authors will spice things up a little! ^-^

Alrighty, now! That's all for today, Jammers. I'll see you in Jamaa! :D

Glitched Items vs. Rare Item Mondays

Hey Jammers, happy Monday! Although Mondays tend to be less happy than other days LOL

However, it's not just a regular Monday. It's a RARE ITEM Monday!!!

Yay! I'm not certain as to whether this is recolored or new, as it's vaguely familiar but I've never seen anyone wearing one. Hmm...

If you're new to the concept of Rare Item Mondays, you'll probably be a little disappointed to learn that no, AJHQ doesn't release stuff like Spiked Collars or Gazelle Horns at the beginning of every week. It's usually recolored versions of items such as the Rare Camo Jacket seen above.

Despite the very clear and very gold RARE icon, Rare Item Mondays are typically not considered worth very much in trading.

But then... why is it called a Rare Item Monday?

The widely agreed upon idea is that despite having the RARE logo, and despite having only been in stores for one day, they're just recolored items so they're not that rare.

At the same time, however, "glitched" items like Nerd Glasses with gold tape, glossy cupid wings, and certain turquoise rings are considered very rare. Technically, they're just recolored items themselves! So if it's not just difference in color, what makes Rare Item Mondays less rare?

AJHQ is seeing people going crazy over "glitched" items because A, they're noticeably different versions of an original item, and B, they're typically only available for a day or less. Put that together and boom! There's your everyday (everyweek?) Rare Item Monday!

My idea about why people see Rare Item Mondays and glitched items so differently goes like this: Whereas Rare Item Mondays are going to be available and openly advertised by AJHQ for a set 24 hours, "glitched" items have a different appeal to them. They're "mistakes" that happen when an item is released; AJHQ doesn't want you to have them. They're only around from a minute to half a day, and owning one shows that you were faster than AJHQ fixing the bug. Kinda like a trophy, ya know? :0

I know this whole post just seems kinda obvious, but I guess that's what happens when I overthink things. XD

See you in Jamaa! :D

Tons of New/Unreleased Items!

Hey Jammers! These last couple months before summer have been rather busy, hehe. "^_^

Due to how little time I've had to update this blog, I'm afraid to say that things like Berry the Koala and Buddy of the Month may take a little longer to get up to speed than previously thought. Don't worry, lostfairy! I'm still going to continue onto the second part of the prompt you generously gave me!

Aside from BOTM and Berry the Koala, I'm still gonna do my best to update this blog daily, no matter how spotty the schedule may be!

As for today's daily post, I'm going to be talking about the stuff I missed from the most recent update, specifically Graham's Workshop, some new unreleased items spotted around a certain AJHQ den, along with some new items.

Let's start off small with the various new items of Jamaa's shops:

I'm so happy that the Wavy Bookshelf came back! I hope this marks the beginning of more "staple" items coming back, like Shoji Screens. ^_^

Additionally, now that the original Elf Tail Armor has come back into shops, know that when trading that their worth a lot less now.

Now, onto the new Graham's Workshop! :)

Graham's Workshop is an adventure that was first released in August of 2015 before abruptly leaving in November. The main premise of the adventure is the same, but there is quite a wealth of new den items you can craft!

What you do in order to gain these lovely items is "craft" them. You go around the beautifully drawn map and collect the resources required to make your favorite items! You see those tags that have pictures of resources with a number? Those are how many of each resource are needed to "craft" that item.

Your inventory looks like this:

If you were around to play Graham's Workshop the first time around, your resources carried over! :D

Personally, I got my eye on the bamboo mats. My plan is to make a whole floor out of 'em. B)

Have you recently checked out AJHQ's Spring Cottage Den? Yeah, it's FULL of unreleased items.

I hope that tiny ladybug crawling on one of the couches comes out in Jam Mart Furniture. :D

That's all for now, Jammers! Because I recently finished my school projects, I think I'll very well be able to post tomorrow!

See you in Jamaa!
