Hey jammers! It was certainly an eventful and crowded day in Jamaa yesterday; everyone went crazy over the fox hats. Well, I walked in today and it was practically the same, everyone was either wearing a fox hat or yelling, "TRADE ME FOX HATS NO ORANGE!!!!" I wonder how long this will last. Anyway, the new item is for sale today in Jam Mart Furniture.
Aww, it's for members only. Now that my membership's expired, I can't have any corn. At least there are more things to grow coming soon, all that may or may not be for nonmembers. There will be watermelons, pumpkins, maybe some berries... You can look at the preview in the Jamaa Journal for more.
Hmm, there isn't really much left to add to this post. So I'll finish it off with a question. With approaching summer vacation for the majority of my viewers, what will you do this summer break? I'll be in solitude with my laptop for most of the summer, maybe sign up for a class, and see my friends for the rest. Comment what your plan is below! :)
That's all for now, see you in Jamaa!

Glitch + Rare Fox Hat!
Hello players of Animal Jam! It is Rare Item Monday once again, and this time AJHQ had decided to answer our cries and brought out an item that before today was considered very rare.
I present to you...
The rare fox hat!
AJHQ didn't color the item, nor did they add any bright things to it, they brought back the exact same Fox Hat that was from the last time it came out, back in 2012. Good times...
In other news, yesterday while trading in Jamaa Township, I opened someone's trade list and discovered... a glitch?
A rare winter blanket, a baobab, and one of those cruise ship things. Not very suspicious. But take a closer look at the winter blanket, and you'll see that the shape of it is the same as back before the 3D switch!
Speaking of the 3D switch, I'm sure all of you have noticed what AJ did to our animal pictures: they turned them more three dimensional. I'm okay with this, but I'm a little fearful that they'll turn the actual gaming experience 3D as well. I know others who feel the same, but know the probability of that is low, seeing the amount of disdain exhibited for only the item change.
The graphics we have now are perfect, AJHQ! No need for this change!
Also, I'm going to switch around fonts again, back to the one I started with last June. If you have any comments or objections, post a comment! :)
That's all for now. Have a great monday!

Clothing Ideas: Nonmember Wolves
Hey jammers! I have a bit of free time and my project is almost done, so I've decided to post. And since yesterday I became a nonmember, this post will be about clothing ideas for nonmember wolves.
Not all of these really match, and I know matching is pretty big on AJ, but not to some. Feel free to steal these and make them your own. :)
Comment if you want more of these posts, and don't forget to vote on the poll to the left side of this blog! I need your feedback. :)

Update 4/25/13
Hey jammers! Today is the biweekly thursday update, and this time it brings both bad news and good news. You can click any of the Jamaa Journal pages to read them better.
To summarize, the main thing that is new is the "Jam Session" party, where you can play instruments on a stage. The second most substantial bit of news is that AJHQ liked the idea of animals "traveling" and not being available, so they made THREE animals go traveling. To me this is part of the bad news, because there isn't a clear need for it. Also, I like elephants...
There is also an (in my opinion too early) announcement of the Summer Carnival coming. I wish this was part of the good news for me, but I already know I won't have a very good summer. I want vacation as far from me as it can be. The reason? I have very little friends, and they've already told me that they are going to spend 2/3 of their summer at camp. That's two months of not having anything to do or anyone to talk to, literally. And in August I'll only see them once or twice.
That got a bit off-topic, so anyway, there are some cool new items too, including a garden plot, instruments, and more.
Also, according to these messages I keep getting, my membership expires in about 3 days. It's not as bad as you may think. In fact, for me it's great! Membership has gotten a little tasteless for me; just having what item you want whenever. I personally think being a nonmember is more fun. I don't want to seem snobby, but it's my personal opinion on the matter. Nonmembers have to work harder to get colored items than members, and if you want an item for a while and just buy it instead of trading a whole lot for it, then it becomes... Not really as special. I know digital items are not really special, but think about it. I like games where there is challenge.
Well that post was very long. See you in Jamaa and have a great day! :)

Recycling Bin + Four Square
Hey jammers! The new item of yesterday and today are both sold where else, but Jam Mart Furniture.
I really like that recycling can! Even though it's a bit modernistic, aren't all of the items in Jamaa a little human-ish too? I guess the reason that we say that an item is "too human" is because it doesn't have that in-theme appeal that many of the beta items did. In beta testing there were tiki masks, bronze Zios sculptures, and not as many bright unnatural colors as we see in Jamaa today. By unnatural, I mean not being in the nature-esque style of what Jamaa once was. I guess with my personal opinion, beta items were a little better than newer items are now. AJ probably switched from rustic colors to brighter ones because maybe they thought it would attract kids of a younger age group who like the sorts of loud and in-your-face pinks and blues that we see now.

I Won The News Crew Assignment!
Hey jammers! Sorry for not posting early enough today, I was (and am currently) very busy. This post isn't complete, and will be done on a later date, most likely tomorrow. Lots of school things for one day, I apologize.
I couldn't believe it when I saw this on the Daily Explorer. Over my break I wrote up this entry on a whim, but never thought it would win. I've had a very bad day today, but upon seeing that my article was chosen, my mood has gotten so much better! I do admit part of this article is a little corny, though.
Read my article by clicking on the screenshot above, or going to the Daily Explorer. ^_^

RIM: Rare Winter Blanket
Hey jammers! Happy monday. Well, I know for some of you (including me) few mondays are happy because you have to leave behind the weekend. Today I'm leaving behind my Spring Break... Either way, I still hope you have a happy monday, even though it may not seem so! :)
Since it's monday, there is a new item marked "RARE" hidden in one of the clothing stores. This time it's in snowy Mt. Shiveer.
I really like this color combination! Although, I wonder why a rare winter blanket was released when AJ's shelves are already clearing of warm weather things.
In other news, some possible previews of a cool new Journey Book have been spotted in Brady Barr's lab.
Click some of the things on the shelves and this pops up. You can't click "Add to Journey Book" yet, but you might soon!
By the way, Happy Earth Day! What will you do to help and celebrate the planet today? Comment below! :)

Happy Day Before Earth Day!
Hey jammers! Today is April 21st, the day before Earth Day. With the nearing special day, AJHQ released a new, never-before-released item in celebration of tomorrow. What makes this item all the more cool is that it's for all jammers!
For the fairly cheap price of 250 gems, this banner is a cool den decoration for jammers who love the Earth. :)
AJHQ didn't just release an item, they put up some fun natural activities on the Daily Explorer as well!

A few days ago I wrote up a long post about why you should grow plants. If you missed it, click here to read it. Since it involves Earth Day, I think you should.

Tetherball + Tunnel Town!
Hey Animal Jammers! The daily small update brings a few– but exciting! –new things. First of all, the new item is a cool one, sold in Jam Mart Furniture.
Oh, and by the way, if you're reading this post you can probably tell that I didn't go to the place I said, and I still have wifi. :)
I've bought this and found that it's interactive! Click it and the tetherball swings around the pole.
Secondly, the new SBI Tunnel Town app is in beta testing!
If you live in Canada, you can download the app to start your bunny adventures in beta! You can go to tunneltown.com for more info. Speaking of bunnies, did you know that bunnies are not in fact rodents, that they are called lagomorphs?
And here is another painting I made which I think is a bit better than the rainbow:
It's a mango hanging off of a tree. I didn't spend much time on the branch, so I'm sorry if it's disproportionate to the massive fruit hanging from it.
That's all for now, Jammers. Have a great weekend! :)

Art Tips (Unrelated to AJ)
Hello again jammers! I've noticed that art and drawing is pretty big on AJ, and a couple of days I saw someone in Jamaa talking about how bad their art was. I decided to make this post because of that, and also because I'm struggling as an artist as well.
These are tips you should remember while drawing, painting, or making any kind of visual art.
1. Practice. Take your time. I wanted to draw eyes better one day, and practiced a lot; drawing eyeballs all over my things and papers, watching tutorials, and soon I significantly improved from when I started.
2. There is no such thing as "badly drawn." It can be said that it needs improvement, but only by the artist. If you're just drawing whatever you want, (free drawing) no one other than yourself can say it is badly drawn. The words "bad" and "good" don't go by one specific set of guidelines. They are matters of personal opinion. Something can seem bad to someone, but that doesn't make it universally bad. It can only be seen as anything definitive to the artist.
3. Anyone can be an artist. You don't have to be "good" at art. You don't need to do art officially as a job. All you need is to put thought into your art, and have passion creating it.
4. You do not need to draw realistically. Drawing realistically is nice, and it captures real life. Drawing in your own style however, takes the viewer into another dimension and makes them think.
5. Start simple. This is the utmost important rule when creating art of all kinds. Visual, written, theatrical, etc. No artists, great or unknown, have their first ever painting be amazing, famous, brilliant, unusual, or eye-catching. They all start small. They all start their art with practicing and perfecting circles, painting fruit, and learning techniques along the way that are the key to creating amazing masterpieces.
To summarize, before trying out dragons, start with fruit. Paint the fruit. Paint it again. And again and again, until you are 100% happy with it. Practice drawing the fruit when you can, memorize how you mix and use the colors to create the effect of the texture. If you're confused, have someone mentor you, or watch/read a tutorial.
Don't worry aspiring artists, if you take time, you will succeed.

Tuxedo + Rainbow Painting
Hey jammers! The new item of the day is sold in Epic Wonders.
This ultramodern item is sold for the staggering price of 1,750 gems. Luckily, all of the games in Jamaa are giving out double gems!
In news about AJ Stream, I have expanded the blog and put a helpful new page on it as well. It's a list of all of the items currently on clearance, and will be updated biweekly. (Once every two weeks, or on every AJ update.) You can go check it out. :)
And as promised yesterday, here is a painting I made of a rainbow:
Last week I bought a set of water color paints. I like them so much that I use them daily. :)
And a quick heads-up, there is a large chance that I wont be posting tomorrow or sunday. The reason for this is that I have to go somewhere which most likely will not have internet connection.
Hold tight, and I'll be back on monday. See you in Jamaa!

Bean Bag Toss + Small Changes
Hey jammers! The new item of today is brand-new and sold in Jam Mart Furniture.
I haven't bought it yet so I don't know if it's interactive, but AJHQ is making a lot of interactive Animal Jam items, so it's possible. This is a cool addition to your den if you're having an Earth Day party, or even if you're not. ^_^
In other news, there are some items which are newly stamped with the "Clearance" icon. AJ is moving out of the cold weather theme quickly, and the autumn-themed items are leaving for a bit.
The year went by so fast, didn't it? It's a little sad for me how it all passes so quickly.
As the title of this post says, small changes are in progress with this blog. I plan to update the "Other Blogs" page so it's more readable and smooth, I'll expand the blog size a tiny bit so I can fit another page, and that page's purpose is currently uncertain.
You can expect to see the changes soon, and in the meantime you can check out the "Codes" page. I've added more codes and a color system. :)
I will post some of my drawings tomorrow. See you in Jamaa!

Buddy Of The Month– April
Hello again jammers! At the beginning of the month I completely forgot to post the new Buddy of the Month on AJ Stream. Sorry about that...
Well, here is the featured buddy for April! Congratulations to...
Luckylittlekoalacat!
When we first met, I was in Jamaa Township and she sent me a Jam-a-Gram asking me to come over to her den for an interview. She liked my blog, and that was the first time someone expressed that much interest in it to me. I excitedly sent her a buddy request, and since then we have been good friends. :)
She gives me constant support with my blogs, and reminds me to post when I feel lazy and forget. ^_^
Congratulations, Luckylittlekoalacat! :)

Horseshoes and Stuff
Hello jammers! I'm back from my break. Sorry I was gone, I wanted to catch up on my drawing. I could show you some of it later if you like. Comment if you do. :)
The new item of today is the Horseshoe set, sold in Jam Mart Furniture.
If you click the color-switch button you can buy individual horseshoes in different positions.
While I was gone, this thing called "Webby Awards" started, and Animal Jam was chosen as one of the nominees.
People vote for the winner, and you can vote yourself by clicking this link. You have to sign in to vote, which is a small downside. But if you do, vote for Animal Jam. AJHQ needs all the votes they can get. :)
No pressure though, you can vote for whoever you want. I'm just assuming that by looking at this post you like Animal Jam. Meow.
And a quick heads-up, the most recent News Crew assignment is due today. For more info, go to Animal Jam's official blog.
That's all for now. See you in Jamaa! :)

Info Post #4: Plant a Plant
Where you are now, at your computer, you are breathing. You breathe in air, and you breathe out… air, right? Nope. You are breathing out CO2, otherwise known as carbon dioxide: a chemical that when copious can be potentially deadly. It's carbon dioxide which is the leading cause for global warming, excreted when exhaling, as well as through unnatural means such as factory fumes.
Can you breathe carbon dioxide for your whole life? Nope. You can't. If you've ever been swimming, and even if you haven't, you know that you can drown in water because you can't breathe. Fish can survive there because they have gills and can filter oxygen from the carbon dioxide. Humans cannot in water. But of course if there's too much carbon dioxide and not enough oxygen, the fish will die. Same with humans on land.
Think about the human reproduction rate. It's much higher than you think. Thousands upon thousands are born each day, and millions of tons of carbon dioxide are pushed into the air, deteriorating the ozone layer. In just one day, and maybe even one hour.
Now think about plants. Think about flowers, think about trees, think about any plant you know. They take in sunlight and water, and photosynthesize. How do they do this? Well, they are planted as seeds in dirt, and with enough light and water they grow leaves and stems and tower high. With those leaves and stems, they take in carbon dioxide and excrete breathable fresh air. In this amazing process they make sugars for themselves, and breathable air for animals. They are friends to the environment.
"But wait, wouldn't that mean that we SHOULD pollute the air for the plants?" No. Not at all. The problem is not that the plants don't have enough carbon dioxide to survive. The problem is that carbon dioxide in the air keeps increasing to dangerous levels, and humans keep chopping down trees and burning rain forests. There are not enough plants to suck up that carbon dioxide and convert it to clean air.

April 22nd is Earth Day. Not a very popular
holiday, but it probably has the most important message: We should cherish and
celebrate the planet that gave us life. This Earth Day, and whenever you can, I
want you to plant a plant. If you’re eating a fruit, gather the seeds or take
the pit instead of throwing them out. Plant them in the ground or your yard, if
you have one. You can also put them in a pot with dirt, water, and sunshine to
help them grow. You’ll make the air around the plant cleaner and less polluted.
So far I’ve planted basil, avocado, and apple seeds. They’re growing rapidly just in pots by a window. What will you grow?
Lots Of New Stuff In April
Hey jammers, sorry I forgot to tell you that I wasn't posting yesterday. I've had a hectic week, with two concerts, not being able to talk to any of my few friends, two badly graded school assignments which weren't my fault, and other things. When I got home all I wanted to do was start off my spring break by curling up on the floor in a little burrito of shame… Okay, I think you get my point now.
Anyway, lots and lots of things have occurred in AJ that I didn't tell y'all about yet. I might as well start by showing you the latest Jamaa Journal.
I'm so excited for the new land!
I and many others have some suspicion that there may be a kind of phantom war soon. AJHQ has been dropping major hints, giving away the spirit armor, telling everyone on their blog that you can protect yourself from phantoms if you wear it, the "It's almost time for an adventure…" messages, and some other stuff too. Oooh, a spirit helmet! I like how they (at least temporarily) stopped the predictable stream of pet gifts. And I like the photo booth. I think it's a nice edition. :)
.
Cool, it's almost Earth Day! Speaking of that, I have an informational post about that coming soon…
Look at this picture:
(Credit to source listed above and more that of course aren't myself.)
My hopes for this possible battle are mostly that it will be temporary, and Animal Jam wont make the transition from a cutesy animal game into a game where you only fight things. If that happens, it will be… odd. Like when out of boredom I logged on to Club Penguin one day and found that dubstep was blasting in one of the rooms.
Well, thats all for now. Feel free to comment, and see you in Jamaa!

Mysterious Message + Digital Sidekix Plush
Hello jammers! Sorry I couldn't post yesterday, I hope you saw the little message I put up on the left side of AJ Stream. From now on, I will do that whenever I'm unable to post.
Anyway, I have some exciting new things to show you! To start it off, AJHQ has been sending lots of signs that something big will happen with AJ. Most likely involving the phantoms. They have been talking about the spirit armor a whole lot more than any other Monthly Gift, and sending out messages too. They look something like this:

What could this be? Is it random, or to prepare for a phantom war? Or even a hint of a shaman sighting? What do you think? Comment below. :)
Second, there is some interesting news regarding the new Sidekix Plushies!
(This photo is also credit to Animal Jam Spirit and other sources that are not me.)
It appears that if you buy an AJ sidekix, you can get a code to put a digital one in your den! Neat, right?
Thats all for now, jammers. See you in jamaa!

Rare Item Monday – Rare Sand dollar Necklace
Hello jammers! The new item of today is sold in the underwater Bahari Bargains. It's a monday rare!
Cool! This is sold on the 6th or 4th page in the store. I like how the colors on this are a bit more faded, unlike the bright and in-your-face monday rares. I like those too, but this one looks a little bit more like it belongs underwater than the rest of the Bahari Bargains rare items.
Sorry for the short and uninteresting post. See you in Jamaa!

Crystal Statues
Hello jammers! Today the new item is sold in Epic Wonders. :)
The newest is the crystal Greely statue, the other is an item I missed. I like these items, they are a few of the items in Epic Wonders that actually deserve the title "epic." That word is being misused A LOT. Epic isn't a word to describe say, the Animal Jam vanity mirror. It's a word to describe a battle, or a giant life-size dragon made of toothpicks.
And the word awesome, also misused, can describe the fact that all of the letters in the English language and the numbers 1 to 9 are markings on the wings of butterflies. Don't believe me? Have a picture:

That got a bit off topic, but still interesting, right? Feel free to comment below. :)

Pitch Fork + Raccoon Wallpaper
Hello jammers! The new item of today is sold in Jam Mart Furniture. :)
This went on clearance sometime last year (2012) and is a good item to put in a barn den.
The latest post on the daily explorer is a cute wallpaper of Jamaa's newest animal, the raccoon. :)
You can click it to enlarge, if you want a better picture of it. You can download this on the official AJ blog.
Thats all for now, see you in Jamaa! :)

Apologies and Thanks
Helloooo, jammers. This post is to apologize for my two-day absence without warning.
The main reasons which I did not post yesterday and the day before are simple, so I will try to simply lay it out for you. The first reason is that I have had tests. Tests, homework, and school things which have kept me occupied.
The second reason is that… as I've mentioned in another apology post, I've started playing Minecraft. Minecraft isn't that addicting to me, but I love the idea of monsters, being in the wilderness, creating things… it's basically the only thing nowadays that brings me lasting joy. (Sad, right?) So I've tried to make time for that.
The third reason is that I do not think of blogging as a job. I think of it as a fun pastime, and it is. Unofficial blogging about a virtual world doesn't translate into my head as a "must-do."
From your comments, I think you wanted a heads-up if I don't post. I promise you that if I don't have the time or desire to post for a few days, I will tell you.
This doesn't mean I'll skip posting for a month. The maximum is only a week if I'm really busy. I will try my absolute hardest to post on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, or anytime I have the time.
And before I go, I want to thank you for all your comments. Support or hate, thank you for all of them. Thank you for reading the stuff I write, thank you for sharing your opinion, thanks for telling your friends. Thank you for helping me reach 20,000 views. I didn't get the views myself, you did. :)
You will see a new post from me tomorrow. See you in Jamaa!

Wacky Item, Zany Item, Silly Item
Hello again jammers! In the new April Fools Party, there are three items that are not viewable which are labeled "Wacky Item", "Zany Item", and "Silly Item." I bought all of them, so here is what they are!
(From left to right: Wacky Item, Zany Item, Silly Item.)
These are some unique items which do some weird things. Here are some pictures of their abilities…
When the button is pushed, an anvil falls down from an unknown source. *cough*aliens*cough*
When the button is pushed on the "Zany Item", whatever this thing is (most likely a missile) breaks through the dirt. *coughcough* Yep, aliens.*cough*
And when the "Wacky Item" is clicked… Well, I'll leave you to figure it out.
…Actually when you click it a green-ish beam of light picks up the dirt and floats away. See? Definitely aliens.
Have fun with the new items! ;)
