Not-Really-Camoflaged Jacket

Hey jammers!
The new item of today is sold in Jam Mart Clothing.

It comes in pink, black, white – all of the standard colors. It's bulky and weird looking, much like some of the other new modern-ish items, and despite it's name, it's probably not going to hide you from the gaze of phantoms on your next adventure.

In other news, there is a new helpful screen for buddy requests!

Larger than actual size!

This time it shows you who exactly wants to be your buddy, other than a cryptic "potatodemon6337 wants to be your buddy."
What if hitting "ok" will make me friends with an actual potato demon??? Gotta know for sure with this new feature.

And now for a nonmember clothing idea. Sister to the "Desert Bear," I present to you the "Dessert Bear."

This is what I always did in Best Dressed when the theme was "most like a dessert." It's supposed to be vanilla ice cream with melted chocolate, cherries (eyes), and caramel coating (wings?).

It's easier to do in Best Dressed with far better items than I've got. xD

Also, a quick notice. I may not be able (most likely not, actually) to post this weekend. Why? I'm going away. :)

I hope you can manage without me!

It would be really sad if you can't.

Seriously.

Jam on!

The Carnival is Back in Jamaa!

Hey animals! The update is here, setting Jamaa abuzz with new items, Jam a Grams, and animals galore!

I've been having an extreme obsession with koalas lately.

I'll skip showing the Jamaa Journal this update, but don't worry! Instead, I'm going to talk about every new thing mentioned, so you get the bigger picture. Now onward, to the news!

Ah, the carnival. Just the way it was last summer, including all of the items it accumulated! If you're new to the carnival, I suggest you look at this post: Guide to the Summer Carnival for Newbies

Gogreen16 modeling her hyena in green, red, and white.

The hyena has trotted into Jamaa with their bold grin in tow! Soon hyena friends, hyena parties, and just overall hyenas will be seen everywhere you look!

Fun fact: Hyenas are not actually wild dogs, but are closer to felines. (Cats!)

New in the Diamond shop along with hyenas are new nonmember den portals! They can be a tad weird color-wise if you're trying to buy them, though...

I don't know if this is a multicolor item that changes, but if it's not... then it's certainly annoying. It's something nonmember, however, which we should all celebrate!

*Gasp* Or maybe... it's a way for nonmembers to change item colors!

Now for some minor news and changes that also follow along with this update:

1. The Cruise Ship Party has voyaged back to Jamaa just in time for June. I didn't even notice it was gone!

2. Den portals are now sold in Jam Mart Furniture for easier access.

3. Spirit armor is returning to the Diamond Shop. I miss when there were still monthly gifts...

4. Big sale in Bahari!

5. $1 for AJ Jump on the App Store!

6. There are new photographic Jam a Grams for every single animal!

GIF from Animal Jam Spirit

Now everyone can find their favorite animal!

Thats all for now,
see you in jamaa!

Animal Jam Inspired Poems and Short Stories

Hey jammers! There isn't much news today, if you don't count the fact that Hyenas and the Summer Carnival are coming to Jamaa tomorrow.

I was in the mood to write, so this post will be a compilation of AJ inspired poems and short stories written by moi.

You're into those, right?

Hope so.

Sand of Crystals

Push back the ferns and spider webs,
until the sun shines bright
across glittering sand and shimmering waves,
that crash with tidal might.
Moon tugs ocean,
Earth has fun,
it's a game of war that will never be won.
Monkeys laugh, horses neigh
Summer isn't so far away.
Lets go together and spend the day
in the warm and welcoming sun.

Why Koalas Live in Trees

Long, long ago, when bears still had tails and Jamaa was just opening it's petals to the bright dawn of a new world, there lived a koala in what is now known as Appondale. Everyday, she would look around for strong animals to race. Koala was the fastest runner in the whole village and was envied by almost everyone–

especially Kangaroo.

Kangaroo was so envious of Koala that he was jealous and bitter because of it. Before Koala came around, Kangaroo would have considered himself THE strongest, THE fastest, and of course, THE best at anything physical. Now that Koala had left the art studio and taken to running, now Kangaroo was completely out of the picture! He loved attention, and now as just a bystander he felt he had to do something, and something fast.

Kangaroo went on a journey to Phantom volcano. He tried to think of something to bribe them with, but as it turned out, the Phantoms were more than happy to put a curse on Koala so she would hinder Kangaroo's quest for popularity no more. "The curse will render the ground hot coals underneath this animal's paws, now never come back lest you never seen again!" Cried the phantom.

They loved causing misfortune to the animals of Jamaa, and despite the shamans constant intervening of their plans, Phantom Volcano was mostly overlooked by the elders as a myth.

One day, Koala was racing Cheetah in what is now known as Kimbara Outback. Koala had won, of course, and was now going to go home to sleep for 20 hours. (Koalas sleep a whole lot.)
When suddenly, the ground began to burn.

"Ouch! The ground is burning!" Cried Koala, who hurried up a tree.

"No it isn't," said Cheetah, with a glance to the dust beneath her paws, "You must be allergic to the dust! You should go home to rest."

Koala sped home, but upon realizing the floor of her own den burned her paws as well, she hurriedly climbed up a tree, where Koala has remained to this day.

That's all for now,
should I post more of these?

Contest Winner – 113457!

Hey animals! I just can't wait for summer at all. :)
What are you going to do over break?

The new item today is sold in Jam Mart Furniture.

It says it's a daisy, but it looks more like a fried egg to me. X)
You could use this in an AJ role-play café...

I've come up with what I think is a cute nonmember clothing idea for all y'all: The Desert Bear!

Items used: cream glove, pale yellow police hat, and a cream colored moon necklace.

Beige and cream are always a good kind of coffee-ish color combo. What's your favorite color?

And now, for the moment we've all been waiting for: the announcement of the contest winner!

The weekly stream contest winner is...

113457!

You are correct! The place talked about in that riddle I wrote was the Chamber of Knowledge!

You didn't specify which prize you wanted (no biggie, it happens all the time), so here are the options:

1. A hand drawing of your main AJ animal. Tell me which is your main animal in the comments.

2. A minor rare.

3. Your blog featured in a stand alone post.

113457, comment your preferred prize! :)

Jam on!

Weekly Stream Contest 5/26/14!

Hey animals! It's Monday, the start of what hopefully will be a fabulous new week! To start the week off with fun, every Monday there is a super special Rare Item hidden somewhere in the shops of Jamaa for only one day!

Once you find it, snap it up quickly 'cause you don't know if it will become high in demand and good for trading!

Rare Item Mondays are a good "paperclip" to start new Jammers off well trading-wise. Have you heard the story about the person who traded a paperclip for something small but bigger than the paperclip, and eventually after a lot more "trading up", the person got a house! At least I think that's how the story goes...

Rare Item Monday – Rare Moustache

As you can see, I'm still stuck on the Portuguese server. ^-^ It's really fun, mostly because it's so empty! You should join me sometime :D Just send me a Jam a Gram or leave a comment and I'll be happy to make time to hang out with you. :3

Daily Explorer Posts

TIP: If you live in an area where hummingbirds frequent, put out a shallow plate of sugary water in a safe place in your yard or porch or wherever you can. Birds spend more time watching out for predators than eating!

You can also do that to attract butterflies.

If you ever come across a hummingbird that isn't flying, drip some sugary water into it's beak and if it isn't serious, they should just zip away. :)

If it is serious, get help from a trusted adult.

Animal Jam Screenshot – Portuguese Servers!

This is me and my brother. As you can see, I'm Rainha coalao, but his animal name is in english. We can still interact, but I can only speak to him in Portuguese while he can speak in English.

Weekly Stream Contests – Solve this Riddle!

I struggles through vines, water, and leeches
this place is not calm like the beaches,
as the door opens my excitement does grow,
for all of the things that soon I'll know,
I climb the ladder to reach my goal,
and open my mind to open my soul.
Where am I?

From this riddle, find the location it's talking about! Comment your answer below, along with your AJ username and which one of the prizes you would like:

If you win, you have your choices of...

1. A minor rare (rare frankenstein masks, popular rare item mondays, etc.)

2. A hand drawn watercolored drawing of your main AJ animal. (specify which is your main animal)

3. Have your blog featured in a stand alone post on AJ Stream.

But once you have the answer, you've got to hurry! The first person who comments with the correct answer wins!

Good luck and have a wonderful week!

Exploration of the Portuguese Server!

Hey animals! A while ago, I was playing around with the language settings and I found a new server on animal jam that is almost completely in Portuguese!

You can get on that server and other language servers using these simple steps:

1. Log into the parent dashboard, or if your parent is the one with the password, ask nicely to log in for you during the right time.

2. Under the preferred language of your account, choose the language server you want to join. If you want to switch back to your own language later, you're going to have to log in for a second time to change the language server back.

3. After you're done with that, log out of the parent dashboard and go to the AJ home page. At the bottom of the screen, there is a drop down menu of home page languages to choose from. Choose the language that you picked on the parent dashboard and log on!

Here are some screenshots:

Words on signs are changed, as well as animal names! There is no complete free chat and you have to speak in Portuguese.

It can be a bit empty sometimes, though...

You can type accented letters here unlike on the english server! :) In fact, you kind of have to.

Here are more screenshots:

Image from art gallery. They've returned...

Sadly, all videos are all in English with no subtitles. Dang it. :|

I hope you enjoyed this post!

até amanhã!

Pilbox Hat + New Berry The Koala Entry

Hey animals! There's only about one more month left of school for me, huh? It's been a great year of procrastinating with assignments and blogging about a kids game instead. X)

The new item has been "previewed" as a Forgotten Desert prize, it's members only, veiled, and most of us don't know what the heckie it is:

The Pillbox Hat!

I decided to look it on on Wikipedia because I was very confused why this would be a new item in Jamaa, because it has nothing to do with anything.
"A pillbox hat is a small woman's hat with a flat crown, straight, upright sides, and no brim. The pillbox hat was popular with the Flemish in the Middle Ages."
– Wikipedia article on the "pillbox hat"

I was right. It has nothing to do with anything.

Notice: Sorry for the short post, but you can expect a new Berry the Koala entry later. Berry the Koala is a plushie journal blog about the adventures of a berry-blue koala in Jamaa. Berry The Koala updates his journal monthly. :)

That's all for now, Jammers,
see y'all in Jamaa!

Patched Hat

Hey animals! The new item of today is sold in jam mart clothing, and matches with the green woven shoes.

It's kind of clunky-looking and I doubt it ever becoming popular, but who knows?

The new DE post today is answering the eternal question:

Why do narwals have horns? Are they unicorns in whale costumes, or are they creatures from another planet, with the bottom of the ocean as their base??

These may or may not be correct assumptions, but the only way to find out is to dive to the depths of the ocean...

...or watch the video. You can easily watch it from right on this blog! Just click the video above. ^_^

Thats all for now,
have a great weekend!

Forgotten Fountain + Future Items

Hey Jammers! The new item of today is sold in Jam Mart Furniture. Some of you eagles might have spotted this earlier in the Forgotten Desert Prizes.

One thing's for sure; if items from the Forgotten Desert are going to be in stores, soon you may see things like this:

I have no idea what either of these things are, but I really want that horse coin. Maybe there is even a panda coin!

Sorry for the short post,
see you in Jamaa!

Sapphire Chest Plate

Hey jammers! I'm in a bit of a rush, so I'm sorry to say that this post will be very, very short. But if you like long posts, check out my forgotten desert walkthrough post!

This week's Rare Item is sold in Jam Mart Clothing, as usual.

They don't really need to have that "days until clearance" sticker on a Rare Item Monday, dontcha think? :3

New in Jamaa...

Whats a slide party? 0-0
Is it just the new phrase for when you slide down the Shiveer slide for the 1,000,000,00th time just for the heck of it? Nobody knows...

Thats all for now, animals,
see you in Jamaa!

The Forgotten Desert Walkthrough

Hey animals! I'm back and ready to show you this walkthrough of The Forgotten Desert with tips and cheats!

Special thanks to my brother who let me borrow his account to play and take screenshots for all y'all at AJ Stream! ;)
He deserves a cookie – no wait, 20 cookies!

This adventure was really confusing for me at first, but if you go to Liza and talk to her multiple times, she'll eventually spill the beans on how exactly to get the crystals.

Here are some important tips from Liza, before we begin:

Missing these are the things that make this adventure incredibly hard. Read them carefully and commit them to memory!

...Oh, or you can just write them down. But writing is for nerds, just so you know! Don't pick up that pen or you'll grow buck teeth and a fluffy tail and –

Wait. The word I meant is squirrel. Don't write or you'll become a squirrel.

Wait, that doesn't make any sense. Oh, never mind. On with the walkthrough!

You are in what can be described as the middle of nowhere. No animals are seen, fish especially. The only movement you hear is the shifting of the sand beneath your talons and the groaning of old, mangled trees. The air is sinister and you know phantoms have been here recently, overrunning the quiet desert with darkness, which is so thick it might as well have a scent. You listen to Liza.

You start out next to Liza perched expertly on the top of a very thin rock that looks like it will break any second. (Liza is a panda, so...)

Apparently, phantoms have hidden shards of a very important crystal in this desert instead of destroying them. It's up to you to find them, but the desert is so vast and nothing pops out... you could be going in circles for all 17 minutes... but luckily, you have a map with you.

Its actually very important to look through every single area on the map, but a little hint: you won't find a single crystal in the clouds or even around the clouds. Still, sometimes cloud patches lead to large rivers with water crystals and earth crystals nearby, and rocks and cacti with golden talon prints. Keep a lookout for ANYTHING golden, and be sure you scale the whole area without missing ANYTHING!

What I did is outline the entire area of the map and fill it all in, like a coloring book. Let's call this the coloring book method, shall we? I'm gonna put a little ™ next to "coloring book method" so you know who invented it.

Getting a little too full of myself...

Anyway, it's important that you scale the entire area with your eagle eye, and if you're not in a hurry, pick up any and all gems you see. That will give you more prizes, and some can be so extremely rare that people would trade so, so much for them.

Remember: you have more than enough time. Don't rush and keep calm! To get the rarest prizes, focus on only collecting the purple crystals. To do that, find large rock formations with gold talon prints.

Here are some screenshots:

 A graveyard? Spoooooky... And suspicious...

What if crystals are in the graves, hidden by phantoms because they know we'll never think to dig up a grave?

Ok, this walkthrough just took a very dark turn. Moving on!

This is how you get the purple crystal. You need three or four others to perch where the talon prints are. A purple crystal will pop up for you to collect.

It can be a little hard at first, but it will pay off well! Some prizes include beta sewing machines, weird new items (like a spinning horse disk), and so much more.

Thats all for now,
see you in Jamaa, my eagle friends!
