Animal Picture Changes

Hey Jammers! I'd like to thank you all for commenting your ideas for Berry the Koala. I wanna let you know that first off, I really appreciate it, and secondly, I'm going to randomly choose one of your ideas to write sometime next week! I'm going to focus today on all the homework that I've ignored all week... Haha... Luckily, it's only for one class! 

The new item for today is sold in Jam Mart Clothing, and is a little different:

Tin Foil Antlers! Antlers made of tin foil! They don't seem to look like aluminum foil at first, so they'd be cool if you want to be a monochrome jackalope or something like that. Antlers are really cool~

In other news, I've noticed that the animal pictures have changed ever so subtly over the past few years. Here's an example:

The top photo is from early 2012, and the bottom photo is from today. The coloring of the wood is different, of course, but some less obvious changes include the mouth, the shading, the eyes, and the overall pixelated-ness of it. The top picture looks more like the actual panda on AJ, while the bottom picture is smoother and flatter. The hat, too, is more streamlined. I have no idea why I cared to notice this.

AJ Toy Figurines Coming in June!

Hey Jammers! By now you've probably heard all the juicy gossip about the new Animal Jam figurines hitting the stores in June of this year. Here are all of the photos uploaded to Clark Stacey's (AJ's CEO) Instagram account as of yet:

That panda is hands down the most adorable toy I've ever seen.

Here's what we know so far:

• They're going to be made by Commonwealth Toy & Novelty, a toy manufacturer and marketer that's been in partnership with WildWorks since last year.

• The outfit parts will be interchangeable, so you can dress the animals and pets up how you like.

• Some animals will have secret patterns that shine under blacklight! It looks like the blacklight will be part of the figure in the form of a cool-looking ring.

• The figurines were previewed at Toy Fair NY16.

• As far as the pictures show, the figurines include animal characters, pets, pet houses, and accessories for both.

• They probably won't be at McDonalds.

• They're coming out officially in June!

I wonder if they have anything to do with that Enchanted Earth toy series that we all went crazy about last year but then just... faded away. Or, maybe they didn't and I've been so out of it that I didn't know they were released? Either way, I haven't found pictures of the actual Enchanted Earth figurines anywhere online, so maybe these are it? Maybe? Or maybe Enchanted Earth was ditched for this? The world may never know. Until June.

I'm as excited for these toys as anyone else, but I still have a few questions. For example, what material are they made out of? They look like vinyl, but I wanna be sure. Animal Jam is a game that generally promotes being kind to the environment, but mass-producing a lot of toys that will end up in landfills seems kind of... counterintuitive? I was hoping that maybe the toys would be made of something that wouldn't mess up the environment as much, but I'm not sure WildWorks has much control over it. Hmm...

Goats are here!

Hey Jammers! Sorry for the delayed post, I've been really busy as of late. By now you've probably heard all about the update... but for those who haven't, here it is!

As many of you have already guessed, goats have come to Jamaa! They don't look much like their mountain-dwelling cousins in terms of fluffiness, but are adorable nonetheless. Thank you so much, AJHQ! But as always, they're member's only and sold in the Diamond Shop. Ah well. 

Coming up soon is the Leap Year Party, looking just as excellent as it did four years ago. A few new items here and there, but still the same cool Treehouse Den. I wonder what kind of claw they'll have this year...

A little unrelated, but I just realized that my four-year-anniversary of AJ was two days ago! 

"Polar bears are SO COOL!"

Ah yes, now what would we do without AJHQ's puns? Life just wouldn't be the same.

But in all seriousness, happy International Polar Bear Day– in eight days! In celebration, a new and adorable item has been added to the Conservation Museum's collection of animal hats:

I'm so pumped for International Polar Bear Day that I made a nonmember outfit based around the Polar Bear Hat:

Otters are coming back! You know, there are so many new animals every year that it's hard to keep track of them all.

Speaking of new animals, there's a new goat mini-book to go with Jamaa's newest creature. And where there's a new mini book, there's a new trophy as well:

Normally I don't give away the answers to animal quizzes because– C'MON YOU CHEATERS! THEY'RE SO EASY TO FIND!!!! but I guess today is different. Delight in how easily you can get your item now, you item-obsessed hooligans! 

Just kidding, I didn't mean that.

Or did I?

As predicted, falcons are to be the next animal flying to Jamaa! Because they're smaller and viewed as more common than eagles or owls, I'm hoping they'll be nonmember. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Good news, the chat system is now more refined than it was last update! As far as I know, you can no longer say "STAB" or "KILL". However, an unexpected bonus: now you can type characters after punctuation! 

I'm pretty sure all the problems with the chat system that went on for a year now (such as not being able to type stuff after punctuation) were just all byproducts of the new developing chat system. 

And, last but not least...

The Lucky Party is soon to arrive, and members can now have whole armies of pets to fight their enemies! 

I really liked this update. I'm sorry I couldn't get to it sooner and I hope this isn't all just rephrasing what you already know.

Ever so slowly...

BOTM + Clearance Items

Hey Jammers! Apparently I underestimated how sick I was, hence the posting gap for the past couple days. Thank you all for your patience as I'm working on updating this blog, as well as Berry the Koala.

However, you won't have to wait anymore for the BOTM– 'cuz here it is!

Admittedly, Vet was the last BOTM I had all the way back in November, so apologies if this seems unfair. However, due to general business it's been so long since we've talked! I'm sorry I can't be online today, so I hope this can make up for it. I'll be online as soon as I can! :)

Today is Monday, and luckily I still have February break! Hahaha. You know what Monday means? Rare Item Monday, that's what!

Unfortunately, I've checked all the clothing stores in Jamaa's lands and couldn't find this anywhere. However, it's safe to assume that this item is expensive and member's only.

You know, wouldn't it be excellent if all Rare Item Mondays were nonmember? It's a bit of a stretch, but I really liked it when they released the nonmember Rare Giant Jester Hat at the carnival a week or so ago. The original Giant Jester Hat was member's only, so wouldn't it be cool if every RIM was a recolored member item made nonmember? Albeit unlikely, it's an idea.

Frogs! Frogs! FROGS! The favicon for this blog is a frog! I am drinking tea out of a frog-shaped mug while sitting next to a calendar full of pictures of frogs! Why can't I indulge my obsession with these amphibians on AJ, too?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M GETTING TOO LOUD!?!?!? WHAT DO YOU—
