Easy Eyeless Glitch + Offer

Hey Jammers! What's up? ^-^

A couple days ago, 1sun1spirit taught me the glitch they use to completely remove the eyes of their tiger (and other animals).

Here's the tiger, for context:

Still need to make that custom Masterpiece... I've been sketching more than usual this week, and today's the last day of my summer program, so I think now is the time to get started.

As 1sun1spirit has told me, this glitch is ridiculously easy but fairly unknown.

So... why not teach y'all how to do it? :D

What you need:

• The land animal whose eyes you'd like to change

• Another animal that can go both in water and on land (seal, penguin, etc.)

• A buddy

Step 1: Go with your buddy to their den.

Step 2: Switch to the animal whose eyes you'd like to change.

Step 3: Switch to your land/water animal at the same time as your buddy switches dens.

You can do this easily by asking your buddy to count down to when they switch their den (3, 2, 1, GO!) and quickly clicking your land/water animal the same time as the switch.

Step 4: On your screen, you will see your land/water animal. On your buddy's screen, they will see your land animal.

Switch your land/water animal's eyes to the closed eyes. Your land animal does not have the closed-eye option, so your friend will see your land animal without eyes.

Step 5: Refresh your browser, and abracadabra, your eyes are gone!

Don't be scared, though– you can easily get your eyes back. Just switch your eyes as normal and they'll be back.

I love this glitch a lot– its easiness reminds me of all the skyway glitches that were patched a long time ago. Let's hope this one stays– it's so fun! :')

Before I go, here's something I don't normally do:

I'm looking to trade all the items on my trading list for an Alpha Training Mat

This is my last resort– I've been going through servers for hours this week trying to find at least one person willing to trade, and I can't.

I'd say my list is overpay– my Gecko Plushie was last seen around early 2013 and unlike the orange one, cannot be won in The Forgotten Desert.

If you have an Alpha Training Mat and would like my trading list in exchange for it, send me a Jam-a-Gram or comment down below.

Thank you!

Items Too Good to Not be in Shops

Hey Jammers! Usually, I don't talk a lot about items. I just don't find most of them very interesting.

However, there are a few that I absolutely love... and you may be surprised by a few, because they aren't all colorful, popular, or rare.

They're also all nonmember, cuz nonmember items are the best items <3

First up...

Shelves!!!

These are an awesome "building block" item; while they are small on their own, you can make a lot of cool stuff with a lot of them.

Shelves are a really good item to use if you're having a "store" at your den. Instead of just arranging items on the ground for sale, stacking them in shelves is more organized and looks nice.

Really annoying that these haven't been in shops since 2014, and because few people recognize their value, they are very hard to find and trade for. :\

Moving on to our second item...

While the flat square Shoji Screen is still available at the Dinner Party, there's something special about the folding one. Maybe it's partly due to nice memories– when I joined in 2012, Elephant Shoji Screens were a staple of every nonmember den because they gave us the ability to make separate rooms out of the Small House Den.

Visually, this item is also pretty classic. The natural materials and geometric animal/plant patterns make this a "true AJ" item ^_^

Thankfully, this item is more popular and therefore easier to find, but because a lot of people overestimate the rarity of this once-common den staple, you'll need to be willing to overtrade for it. :\

Next up...

All the classic nonmember plants!

These all used to be considered "beta", despite only a couple (if any) were around during actual beta testing. Most came out in 2011.

Plants used to be in super high demand until a ton were released in mid-2012 at Jam Mart Furniture and the then-new Treetop Gardens.

The Lit Palm Tree, despite seasonally being released at every Jamaaliday Jam, is still on this list because it was the first plant I ever got, and should still go along with the classic plant gang. ^-^

Because these plants are no longer in high demand, they are harder to trade for despite being less rare. That's why I think at least a few of them should come back to shops– most everything in Treetop Gardens is members only!

Last, but certainly not least:

This is the only item on my list thats in fairly high demand. I don't like most promo items, but I love this one a lot. It has a lot of stylistic similarities with the items above– the bucket of staffs reminds me of one of the potted plants. I'd say there's a decent possibility that components of this this item were originally drafted long before its official release.

Right now I'm hoping to do a kinda lore-themed den, so this is a current item I'm looking for lol

That's all of the items I can think of right now that I believe should be more easily available.

What are your favorite items? Comment down below~ ^_^

Nonmember Shrine

Hey Jammers! For those of you who didn't see the edit on my previous post, my theory that Juno is nonbinary has been confirmed by one of the members of AJHQ.

Here's the evidence again, if you don't feel like scrolling all the way down:

Click the image to read this AJHQ member's post– it's really nice! ^-^

This was a really good decision on AJHQ's part. I was talking about Juno being nonbinary on the Animal Jam thread in Chicken Smoothie, and at least 2 people said that it made them wanna get back into Animal Jam again after a long period of disinterest. This is awesome! :)

In other news, have you looked at the Daily Explorer blog as of late? It is the official blog imbedded within the Animal Jam website.

I had thought that it's only used now to advertise merchandise or Rare Item Mondays, but there was a really cool educational article the other day! Check it out:

Click to enlarge it big enough to read.

This surprised me, because it was a genuinely good article! I had no idea that some spiders can fly by "ballooning" their silk. It was also nice to see more people in the comments who appreciate the amazingness of spiders. <3

I hope we see more of this in the future!!!

The next part of this post is a nonmember den-decorating idea I've used for my own den for a while. It's easy, flexible, and most of the items can easily be acquired.

Read on and I'll teach you how to make a nonmember shrine!

First off, lay down one Stone Circle and three Cosmo's Stone Walls like this:

You can get a Stone Circle from the top right reward chest in Return of the Phantoms (normal mode)

You can get a Cosmo's Stone Wall from the top center reward chest in Meet Cosmo (hard mode)

Next, lay down any Alpha/Mira/Zios statue in the middle of it. For this demonstration, I will use the Zios Mask Totem:

You can get a Zios Mask Totem from the top left reward chest in The Trials of Zios (normal mode)

You can get a normal Alpha statue from the top floor of the Chamber of Knowledge. Only some of the statues are nonmember.

You can also get a bronze Alpha statue from the AJBDAY Party that comes around in early September.

There are also some other statues of Zios/Mira/Alphas, but I can't recall them right now lol

The above arrangement is the main part of the shrine, and is fairly easy to acquire.

Here are some decorations I like to use on it that make it feel complete:

I use the Green Painted Pot (which can be acquired through trading) and put a Banana Plant behind the statue (which is available at the Monkeys Only Party)

And there you have it! I hoped you liked this little nonmember den tutorial. Maybe I'll do some more later, if you like this one. ^-^

What kinds of den decorations do you like the most?

See you in Jamaa!

Juno and the New Lore

Hey Jammers! At 12 PM EST today, the biweekly update happened.

Let's see what's n–

AAAAGGHHHHH

AGGHAAGHHHHH

AAAGGAHGAHHAHAHAHHHH\H

WHY AJHQ... ITS ONLY AUGUST 2ND...

This is the equivalent of a store pushing back-to-school supplies during the summer because there are no more money-related holidays to profit off of.

But for the people who are actually going back to school soon, R.I.P. </3 you're in our thoughts

Aside from that, though, there were some redeeming qualities of this update. And no, I'm not talking about the new pile of blindingly colorful items at the Diamond Shop.

First off,

Tiki Trouble has returned!!!

I have to admit, this is a pretty cool adventure. I made an extensive post about it when it first came out, so click here if you want some adventure knowledge (and a few conspiracy theories).

Tiki Trouble is so cool that I think I'll make a second post all about it. Eventually.

The notice in the Jamaa Journal caught my attention because I remember my buddy telling me about how much they wanted Tiki Trouble to return. I guess AJHQ was listening, Hallfall! :D

Next up, probably the biggest part of the update: Juno.

Juno, for those who never looked in the shop catalogue at the AJBDAY Party, is the name of the Arctic Wolf Alpha.

Every animal, new and old, has a corresponding Alpha to represent them. With the exception of Tavie, no Alpha that was not present in beta testing has a character backstory, but it looks like that's about to change with Juno!

What also stuck out for me while reading the above Jamaa Journal page is that Juno is referred to as 'them', rather than 'he' or 'she'– we'll get back to that soon. :)

Over in the Temple of the Ancients...

Notes, notes, notes!!! I love 'em.

In order, this is what they have to say:

First of all, I love how each note is infused with each individual Alpha's personality.

Second of all, Juno is once again referred to by they/them pronouns (specifically 'themself'), which all but confirms my theory that Juno is the first nonbinary Alpha! :D

That's a great first for Animal Jam, let alone any kids game!

I wonder if this was planned from the moment that the Bronze Juno Statue was made– after all, Juno is already a traditionally gender-neutral name.

EDIT: My theory is CONFIRMED!!!

A developer for AJ posted this on their Instagram page. Yay!!!

There we were, discovering a mysterious statue and deciding to drape clothes on like a mannequin. Little did we know that said statue would contain the spirit of an ancient Alpha...

Just now, I realized why all these newer animals don't have corresponding Alpha characters.

All animals that exist on Earth today lived in Jamaa at some point, but the phantoms destroyed the land so much that all animals fled/went extinct except for their Heartstones. There were Alphas for all animals who fought against the phantoms, but it can be assumed that all fled/went extinct except for the main Alphas of today. When there's a new animal, they are actually returning to Jamaa.

So Jamaa as of today is slowly rebuilding from the phantom devastation, and the Alphas are trying to prevent another one.

Lore...

See you guys in Jamaa!

Weird Deleted Feature

Hey Jammers!!! If you've been wondering why my last post was five whole days ago, the answer is simple: laziness. I have a small summer job, and while it's only four hours a day, it involves a lot of working outside in the sun (gardening).

I just get overly tired when I get home and I can't do much else aside from lie around and read. :\

Just wanted to clarify that because a couple people have asked me if I've lost interest in AJ blogging. The answer is a resounding NOPE!!! I'm just sleepy lol

This laziness has also meant that I still... haven't... started... on 1sun1spirit's custom Masterpiece. It will happen, I swear! I think about it every day! I've just been struggling with motivating myself /).(\

I'm gonna clean my room today, and that usually helps, so hopefully all the stuff I need to do will happen sooner rather than later.

---

Over on Animal Jam, I noticed something a little weird buried in the Settings tab a couple updates ago.

It came unannounced, was barely noticed at all, and then vanished as soon as it arrived:

A strange button entitled 'Update Parent Email'

It seemed to imply that you may now switch your parent email address to another one. This might be helpful for Jammers (or their parents) who don't have access to their email address.

Still, it's a very particular situation that probably doesn't happen enough to merit a whole button in the Settings tab.

If you clicked it, things started looking a little fishy:

I think it's suspicious that clicking it gives no further information– it just asks you to write down your parent email and baits you with 1,500 gems.

I didn't test it out. On the surface, this feature appeared innocent, and it might as well have been, but a parent email account is sensitive information for someone who might wanna hack your account.

For example: if you're afraid of someone fooling around with your account, you can lock that account from the parent dashboard. However, if that person gets your parent's email account, they can do whatever they want.

I'm probably just being paranoid, because this button looks like it was internally implemented by AJHQ. I'd also assume that hacks into the appearance of AJ wouldn't be possible with the level of security now employed.

Still, just thought it was a lil spooky. O_o

Before I go clean my room, I just wanted to tell you an idea I came up with: graphics commissions for AJ bloggers! Of course, I wouldn't do this until I'm done with the other stuff I need to do, but it's a thought. :)

Seeya!
