The Effects Of Global Warming – Too Soon

You probably know what global warming is. It's when the constant release of greenhouse gas slowly heats up the average temperature and begins to deteriorate the ice caps and overflow into the ocean.

Some people choose not to believe in it, but the evidence is/has been much too overwhelming to ignore.

If you don't believe me, take this new study into consideration:
By the year 2080 coastal regions of the USA will be completely underwater including Boston, Texas, Miami, Florida, and New York. Not just the USA of course, things are not looking good at all for any coastal regions anywhere.
Even if people in North America completely stopped contributing to Global Warming from today on, the effects will be inevitable. Basically, we can do close to nothing to stop this from happening.

Of course this will be gradual; water will slowly claim beaches and boardwalks but then progress to cities, towns, roads, and wildlife.

Just so you know...

From a recent biking challenge, 207 people biked 100,701 miles, saving
  • 688.1 pounds of hydrocarbons
  • 5,105.6 pounds of carbon monoxide
  • 218.5 pounds of volatile organic compounds
  • 91,401 pounds of CO2
These statistics are real from a real challenge.

Also...

"The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that each passenger vehicle in the U.S. generates on average 4.8 metric tons of CO2 every year, not accounting for emissions resulting in damage to the vehicle and local infrastructure, along with the actual production of fuel. The European Cyclists Federation, however, puts CO2 emissions from biking at about 10 times less than driving a car (PDF), even after accounting for the emissions required to make the bike and emissions linked to food the rider eats to power the device."

I hope you can understand now that global warming is not at all a myth and that you should play your part in it so it does not completely wash away all life to the bottom of the ocean.

I'm not completely sure if all of the things on the site are kid-friendly, but I believe the linked article certainly is.

I'm sorry if this depressed you.
