Friendship Party Update

Hey Jammers! Today was the update, but unfortunately, there is not much more than you would expect to see. I hope Clark Stacey's promise of more content-heavy updates in February will soon come to fruition.

As today is the closest Thursday to February, the Friendship Festival has commenced. I wish they'd bring back that secret-admirer Jam-a-Gram thing, just to make this update at least a little bit more fun.

The usual February stuff is here. Red banners decorate the Township, and pink heart flowers have popped up throughout Jamaa... these are the same pink heart flowers I saw when I first joined on February 17th, 2012! Maybe I'll have an AJ party soon to celebrate...

Along with Special Delivery, the Friendship Party is here:

Interesting, how it's winter everywhere else on AJ but it's Spring in the Friendship Party.

Hello, Cami's Frog :^)

Find a friend to share the title of Friendship Lord as you sit upon your respective thrones. Then, find another friend to fight over the thrones. Have a Friendship War.

I don't believe there's anything new here, but that fountain and those stepping stones may be... I'm not sure, I need to keep myself more up-to-date with items as I post more frequently.

Because February 7th is Online Safety Awareness Day, the Safety Quiz is advertised in the Jamaa Journal. Realistically, you can take the Safety Quiz anytime you want.

Well, because I don't have much in the way of content, I guess we might as well take the quiz and show you the answers.

First question...

*sigh* easy as always...

Pfft, this one's obvious

I've played this game for 7 years, I should know this by now.

Been there, done that...

I'm sure you guys have taken this quiz so many times you have it memorized by now

Easy...

Everyone knows this, so why is scamming still prevalent?

Simple answer to a simple question...

This should be self-explanatory

How else would I remember my password?

Huh. I thought this quiz only awarded 125 gems. I guess I'm rich now!

That's all for now, Jammers. See you in Jamaa!

The Freeze Glitch + Cool Art

Hey Jammers! Quick post today. :P

You've probably noticed it popping up here and there in Jamaa, but I don't believe I've talked about the freeze glitch yet.

Basically, your animal will randomly freeze in the middle of the Play or Dance action, each animal type freezing at the same exact position.

It is unknown why this happens, but to my knowledge, it started appearing around the time of that duck thing in December.

Here is a beautiful trifecta of freeze glitch screenshots, feat. Gogreen16:

You can't tell, but each animal is stuck like that. Or did I take a screenshot at the exact perfect time? Have I fooled you all???? :O

Unrelated to the freeze glitch... here's some nice art I found:

The one with the wolf and the fox going around the earth is probably my favorite Masterpiece that I've ever seen on Animal Jam. It's so dark, vibrant, and uplifting :')

I really should make some more Masterpieces; I have a few tokens to spare. If only drawing with a mouse wasn't so unpleasant XD

Hmm... what if on this blog, I made a Masterpiece page? I'd post Masterpieces I've seen, Masterpieces you make, and some of my own, maybe. Hmm...

I'm really happy that the Masterpiece feature exists. When I first joined AJ, there was a lot of cool art in the Jammer Central gallery-- art of many different kinds. While I miss the variety of digital and traditional art in Jammer Central, I'd have to admit that Masterpieces encourage creativity more than anything else. :)

Before I go, I just wanted to let you guys know that Rainbow000Pegasus is having a party on AJ tomorrow (Monday) at 5:00 PM Toronto Time

(I hope that it's ok for me to post this here, I just thought I could spread the word)

Thanks for reading this silly ramble-y post. See you in Jamaa! C(^.^)D

R.I.M. Craze

Hey Jammers! I just finished my first final exam– I think I did alright. I still have another two tomorrow, though, so after I finish this quick post I will start studying again.

The topic of this post is a little late: this week's Rare Item Monday.

I didn't think to look it up this morning until Bookgirl10 commented saying how much they liked it.

Curious, I looked it up and found this nice video:

This person actually consistently updates their channel with AJ Rare Item Mondays on both original AJ AND Play Wild, so check them out:

But as for the video itself, it shows a chaos in Jamaa that hasn't existed since Fox Hats came back:

People were so hyped about it that shops that didn't even have the RIM were full. o_o

All this over a recolored item that isn't even nonmember? XD

Granted, this RIM is unique in that it looks nice. If you can recall, most Rare Item Mondays are neon eyestrain colors, but the one for this week is actually kinda pretty!

I wonder if any misinformation was spread that made people search so frantically for the RIM. Did some popular Jammer say that it made you invisible or able to shoot lasers from your eyes?

Alright, back to studying. See you in Jamaa!

More Frequent Posts

Hey Jammers! This will be a short post because I need to go work on two watercolor pieces for my art class. They're due on Wednesday, but I also need to  use this time to study for finals :0

Here are some new items in Jam Mart Clothing and Jam Mart Furniture. They're not my favorite, but I believe the Alpha snow statues are 100% new:

You might be looking at this and wondering "But DoomyPanda, I thought you only posted about items you like!"

That may have been true yesterday, but I've changed my mind. You see, q1zx has recently decided to stop updating The Animal Jam Lake Blog, so the blogging community has lost one of its rare daily posters.

Because of this, I have made it a goal to post more often. I probably will not be able to post daily except on school breaks, so right now I'm shooting for 2-3 times a week. This will mean that you'll see daily items more often, as I can't always write a long analytical post.

I'm also taking into account the results of the poll to the right of the blog:

I was actually surprised at how close the results are! I had thought more people wanted detailed posts, but I understand now that frequent posts make the community feel more active. In the glory days of the Animal Jam blogging community (2011 to 2014), most posts on popular blogs were just daily items with a sprinkling of interesting information.

Up until now, I've held off on posting until I stumble upon a really interesting topic, but as those instances are few and far between, I believe I can contribute more to the AJ community by posting less content more frequently.

Of course, this style of posting will not replace my analytical posts– it will just be an addition. :)

As there have been some changes in the blogging community, I edited Animal Jam Stream's blogroll.

Currently, these are the only AJ blogs that are updating daily/regularly:

The Animal Jam World had updated daily, but posts halted January 1st so I dunno what's up with that. I'll put them back in the blogroll's daily posting category if and when posting resumes.

Before I go, here's one little thing:

AJHQ recently had an Instagram contest where people decorated Winter Small House dens, and the screenshot above is part of one of the winners' den. I just thought the corner with the sturdy table was nice, as well as the outer space theme incorporated with the Wolf Cake X)

Alright, guys. Time to go work on my watercolors!!

See you in Jamaa :)

Nonmember Winter Den + Blood Moon

Hey Jammers! Sorry for the big gap in posting. I have a lot of ideas for different posts, but I need to start writing them down because I tend to forget them almost as soon as I come up with them ^^;

Aside from that, there's also school stuff that's stressing me out even more so than usual, so I've been focusing on that. And the time that I'm not doing school stuff is spent doing nothing as I prepare to do more. Aaaaaa

But anyway, I'm back to report on the update-- which is surprisingly good! o_o

Take a look at these pages of the Jamaa Journal:

As was predicted when the Autumn Small House den came out, it seems that there will be a nonmember den for every season! (I know the spring small house may be very flowery, but what of the summer small house? What season is represented by the normal small house!?)

I'm convinced that these seasonal NM dens were originally designed a long time ago in AJ's history. Look at these images, courtesy of my brother:

The design of these dens is much more earthy and muted than most new dens, which tend to be flashy and bright.

These seasonal dens might have been designed in a similar technique as the original small house, as to not stand out too much, but it's far more likely that these are just older designs that have been collecting dust at AJHQ until now.

And I am very happy about that! I love the style of these seasonal dens, and I can't wait to see the two warm-weather ones to come ^_^

In particular, I love how the winter den's path looks. It reminds me of the original Trading Party... :')

I had thought that this would be the only redeemable part of this update, but there's also this interesting thing!:

Hmm... so on the 20th and 21st, there will be a lunar eclipse? Will a similar event take place in Jamaa, just as it did two summers ago with the large solar eclipse event? Will Jamaa Township once again be covered in shadow?

It should also be noted that the 2017 solar eclipse event brought us some very cool things, namely The Forgotten Archives beneath the Zios Statue. I wonder if more lore-related things may come from the upcoming lunar eclipse...

EDIT: There's also a cool new nonmember item to celebrate!

I saw this on Rainbow000Pegasus' blog and got really excited, because I thought "Hey! Maybe this is a hint that there will soon be night dens to put different kinds of moons in!"

...this is a cool item, but what you're not seeing is how it floats up and down weirdly like a crystal from an adventure, implying that it's meant to be displayed in a den. There goes my night den theory! :\

Fun fact: January's moon is called the Wolf Moon because January is a time when there is not much food, so some wolves are supposedly howling in hunger during this time.

Because it's fun, I'll tell you all the other moon names:

February - Snow Moon
March - Worm Moon
April - Pink Moon
May - Flower Moon
June - Strawberry Moon
July - Buck Moon (or Thunder Moon)
August - Sturgeon Moon
September - Harvest Moon
October - Hunter's Moon
November - Beaver Moon
December - Cold Moon

Many cultures have different names for moons-- the moons above are mostly specific to North America.

If only I could write "Wolf Moon 10th, 2019" on my school work instead of "1/10/19"...

Those are the two major aspects of this update-- but wait, theres more!

The Heatwave Party has returned!

It hasn't changed much-- all the same items are there. Still, it's very popular right now, so check it out!

The Heatwave Party is actually one of my favorites-- most likely because I joined during a February (Snow Moon :P) and remember it fondly.

This update has made me pretty hopeful for the rest of 2019. I suspect that the small weekly updates are over now and we're going back to more content every 2 weeks.

As I get more work done, posts will be more frequent! So... see you in Jamaa! :D
