Animal Jam Feral

Hey Jammers! Sorry for the long unexplained absence. No, I did not get abducted by aliens while I was in the woods a couple weeks ago-- I'm just really exhausted by graduation stuff lol

Here's an eastern box turtle I met while I was over there:

So beautiful and special :')

So have you guys heard that Wildworks finally announced that "AJ for older kids" I talked about a while ago?

It will probably be 3D, given the image on the screen above Clark and the fact that this game is coming from "Play WildWorks"

I looked at this person's Instagram (because I thought this was an Instagram post) and according to their bio they're a developer who works with Wildworks? Clark Stacey follows them so I guess that's probably legitimate.

I couldn't find this post there, leading me to think that this may have been a post on some other social media OR they deleted it.

I have a question... what does this person mean by 'online reality show for mythical animals?'

Here's some more info. I don't know where it came from, but I saw all of these images on Violet AJ's Animal Jam Legendary Palooza. I trust it XD

So it says that it's gonna be a "friends and family beta" around the end of summer, meaning that only friends and family of developers/staff can beta test it for now.

If you go to the fer.al link, it just redirects to the WildWorks home page, but that may change at some point.

What's my take on this? I'm kind of annoyed that it's 3D CGI, because I much prefer the more 2D style of Animal Jam, but I'll probably still try it out. The idea of crafting items sounds really cool and it's something that I've always thought would be cool on AJ!

Still... does the description remind you guys of anything?

I've personally never played Feral Heart, but I watched my friend design some characters and the whole part about Animal Jam Feral allowing you to "design a character from the ground up" and including kitsune just reminded me of it XD

Alright, that's enough for now. I promise a post this coming weekend!

See you in Jamaa~

    1. i mean i hope its not a copy, the feral heart graphics in my opinion are bad. The fact that there are now mythical animals are dope so im excited and customizing your character to be similar to a mythical animal has always been a theme in the aj community

  2. Hello,

Thank you for having mi forward my publication (Instagram).

For your question on 'online reality show for mythical animals' I can not reveal more information than there is on your project, however I advise you to contact WildWorks who will be happy to answer you, I also do not know if you are going to have a proper answer.

It is also a wonderful project that will soon arrive on your screens!

  8. I honestly think that AJ is going to shut down because of Feral.

It's kinda obvious AJ is in the dumps right now (and probably has been for a long while), what with the greedy traders, scammers, and even AJHQ themselves getting in on the business they shouldn't have gotten into it. Also, their practically advertising their jambassadors. Kinda makes it feel as if they favor their little jambassador bunch over the whole rest of us.

The community is basically being given a chance to start over again- by way of Feral- from that toxicity, so who wouldn't leave AJ's community and never come back? Especially if they'd seen some things that shouldn't have been in AJ in the first place, been scammed, or even hacked. Or maybe all of them at once. They wouldn't want to be reminded of the pain they went through with AJ, would they?

  9. Also, my thoughts about Feral:

    1. I don't think Feral's graphics should be like AJPW's graphics, at all. From what I've personally experienced, AJPW's graphics have a style of being simple and clean, perfect for a children's game, but not for a teen game like Feral. I think that instead of using AJPW graphics, the developers should go for a more complicated, nature-themed look, but simple enough to let the players be able to create.

    2. From what I know of reality show perspectives, the cameras are always trained on the people they're recording, but not in the view of the person. I guess I think that the player should also be able to see in the view of their avatar, as it may personalize the experience. I'm just saying this because there is a certain game that has the reality show-like camera, but I tend to use first-person view most of the time because of how personalized it feels, as if you are going through what your avatar is going through.

    3. Mythological creatures will be great and all for this game, but what if you wanted to play as just a regular animal? I know others might be attracted to the game because of the creatures that will be playable, but for me, that's the reason I'm not completely into playing the game. Personally, I like to have my avatar as a real animal (or at least mythological creatures with some kind of haunting myth around them.), just because I feel more comfortable and used to doing that. Plus, to me, it feels more genuine to be a real animal rather than a made-up one. Would someone be able to do that?

    4. It seems that humanoid elements might exist in Feral. What I mean, is that the lore might contain humans or mentions of humans, or have humanoid items exist. I'm thinking this purely because in the leaked NPC images that we were given, the NPCs have a slim and tall human physique. Though, I'd be interested in some kind of plot where humans were wiped out somehow, and the mythical creatures were free to roam, free from danger, because of that.

    5. How would "internet audience" work? Would the internet be able to see what's going on when the player is on? Does it practically record live streams when a player gets online, for the entire internet to look at? And where would those live streams (if they do exist) be at on the internet?

    6. Because we had Native American and American items back in AJPC and AJPW, would there be cultural symbolism in Feral? Not just one culture or two, but lots of it, scattered wherever? I can already see Japanese and European cultural symbolism, such as the avatars themselves.

    7. Because trading is practically confirmed in Feral, would Feral's trading system take the form of AJ's corrupted system, or a more relaxing, time-resistant one? I'd love to see Feral have a more loose and calmed system, as it would be really annoying to go through a "new" trading system, but have it be like AJ's corrupted one all over again.

In general, I do think Feral could be the grounds of a much better game than its predecessor, I still fear it may become the very thing I believe it's trying not to be: AJ 2. I also fear it for that it may signal the end of AJ's days- because though a new game may not have intended to do so, it may end interest in the game before it, and thus the maintenance of the game before it (causing it to shut down for forever).

I'm slightly intrigued in this game, but not so much as other people. I suppose someone will have to convince me to actually play this game.

    1. I don't think AJ will shut down-- scamming and hacking have been an issue forever, and AJ is WildWorks' flagship product, so it would bode really badly to shut it down just because there's more new products. Also, not everyone likes 3D CGI!

Still, the other points you made are really interesting. Im curious to see what happens next

  12. I think that it's a great idea because play wild has been took over by older kids.

  13. No that isn't true wildworks and Clark Stacey would never do that to younger kids.

  14. Hi, i'm a fellow Ajpw player and have been playing for approximately 4 years...and i was just wondering, will play wild still continue to have updates and jamaaliday every thanksgiving? i'm very curious to know as i still want to/will play Ajpw, i know its obvious Ajpw will still be here.....but as i said again, im just curious to know, tysm! hope someone replies.... jam on

    1. I'm pretty sure it will! I think seasonal updates like the Jamaalidays are pretty easy for AJHQ to do, because most if not all the events and items are recurring. They just rerelease that stuff every year.

  16. I’ve seen it, older adults get the game to get information and hack, steal children, do stuff that is to inapropiote. Wilworks needs to do somthing about it like animal jam, they need restricted chat. It’s basically a information taking game, I’d recommend waiting until your 14 or 15 it’s very dangerous for kids under the age of
12 or 10 sorry, (to parents trying to learn about the game whale trying to keep their kids safe)

    1. I don't play Fer.al right now so I don't personally know what's going on there, but yeah, you have to be 13 or older to play. There are two modes you can play in-- free chat (where you can swear, I think, but certain things remain blocked out) and restricted chat (which blocks stuff like swearing). Unlike AJ, you can switch freely between these two modes, and there may have been updates since I last played in May but I remember the chat filters being pretty lax.

Heyyo! I love it when you guys comment. I'm always checking for more, so even if you comment on an older post I'll definitely see it and try to respond. :)

Before you comment, of course, here are some basic things to remember:

-Don't be mean on purpose.
-Keep the comments appropriate for all ages. This is an Animal Jam blog.
-No spam, please! That means no comments just saying "buddy me im animaljam123" or "hi", just add a little more than that.
-Rants/long comments totally encouraged! You don't have to apologize for a long comment, I love reading them xD

-*NEW!* Please be safe about the personal information you share here, and on the internet in general. Just like AJ's in-game safety guidelines, don't share your real name, photos of yourself, phone number, address, email, or age. Always turn to a trusted adult if you're unsure about something.

Pretty easy rules. Nothing to stress about. As long as you follow them, you can say whatever you want!

Thanks for reading! C(o.o)D

P.S. That's a bear emoticon up there. ^
