Big Update + WildWorks!?

Hey Jammers! Here I am as promised with as much info about today's Animal Jam update as I could wring from the pages of the Jamaa Journal, as well as the shops. 

So right now I'm gonna jump right in with each page of the Journal! 

 Owls are finally in Jamaa and available for anyone!

...Anyone with 10 diamonds and a membership, of course. AJHQ still hasn't broken their vicious cycle that the Diamond Shop has spurred. Honestly, everyone would be much better off without it...

But either way, I kind of like the owls! They're about as big as an AJ bunny, and just as cute. Sadly, I can't get an owl because I'm nonmember, but if you're curious about their actions (play, dance, sit, sleep) you can just go to the Township. It's pretty much drowning in dancing owls.

 Next up, we have the winner of the den item set contest: the Pizza Parlor set!

I'm sad that the Art Studio set didn't win, but at least pizza has been introduced to Jamaa!

Amazing.

But it seems to me (and probably many others) that the people who design or draw the items are different than they used to be, say, back in 2011– or at least the style has changed? It's typical of course, but the way the items look now seems very "unnatural." I don't know, I came to AJ because it had a serene-ish natural style that every other online game seemed to lack. 

I sound really complain-y right now, but don't you admit that the way the Pizza Parlor stuff looks... doesn't fit? I just can't help but be nostalgic.

 Go check out the new (and really pretty) animated mini book in the Chamber of Knowledge as well as the new exhibit in the Conservation Museum!

I'm not too sure what Wild Explorers is about, but it looks, er... weird.

Moving on, here we have the new items:

The top ones are sold in the Jam Marts, while the bottom two are both in the Diamond Shop.

A couple days ago, while I was looking around the main AnimalJam blogs and websites for graphics, I found something on the "About" page:

So I looked at this and wondered why SBI wasn't credited and who in the world WildWorks is. So I did some research and found...

SBI changed their name to WildWorks!

Maybe they changed their name and logo because they'd put more into AJ. SBI did a bunch of other things aside from AJ, so maybe this could mean they're putting a ton into AJ now to keep it the great game that it is? It's a really nice thought.

Comment Moderation?

Hey Jammers! I know that there hasn't been much exciting news recently. Don't fear, though! Since last Thursday was a sort of half-update, I'm assuming that at least a handful of new things will be here by this Thursday so thankfully, you won't have to put up with this annoying filler for long. ;D *thumbs up emoji*

And don't forget: since it's a new month, the next monthly edition of Berry the Koala is on its way! Not to mention the next Buddy of the Month is going to be chosen soon. Just keep a lookout...

And who knows? Maybe I'll even have a Friendship Festival giveaway/contest/riddle sort of thing, too...

Anyway, I have a few things I wanna talk about in this post today– blog changes, a glitch, the usual. But of course I have to start with the usual: the new item, which is...

The Heart Couch!

It's a pretty item that's sold where else, but Jam Mart Furniture. Actually, it's a bit weird that the heart couch is displayed in the Friendship Party but sold in a Township Shop. Hmm...

Anyway, I've been thinking about taking down comment moderation– if only temporarily. The reason being? People haven't been commenting as much at all, so I've been wondering if maybe the need for extra patience to get your comment moderated is a bit of a put-down, even though I obsessively check my dashboard at least ten times a day for comments and automatically publish every one. Either it's that or y'all just hate me.

So I was thinking, if you could publish your comment automatically and without Captchas, it would be slightly easier to comment for you. But for me, I'd need to sift through everything and forcibly remove robot spam from the section, which without the Captchas would flood everything. Not to mention that this would be a terribly great opportunity to ignore the rules that no one even reads anyway and fill everything with hate and well... less than appropriate stuff. So what do you think? Should I switch off comment moderation as well as Captchas to make things easier? Seriously, I'd love to know. I'll go make a poll right now...

The other thing I wanna tell you is a short and quick notice: I've been learning a bit more about CSS so I'm gonna spend some time in the next few days making my blog cuter than ever before. I'm not doing anything major, just personalizing a bit and hoping with all my heart that it'll look good. If it doesn't, then I'll change it.

And I do have a glitch screenshot I want to show you, too. It's not too exciting, but it is mildly interesting:

...Or are they? Only 10% of the ocean is actually explored and you know we have sea cucumbers, sea pigs, and sea lions... so why not sea rabbits? Sea bunnies. I like the sound of that.

R.I.M. + 9 Nonmember Clothing Ideas!

Hey Jammers! Today is Monday, which means there is a "rare" item hidden for one day only in one of Jamaa's shops. 

This week, the Rare Item Monday is on the 6th page in Jam Mart Clothing:

You know the name says "headband" but I'm not seeing a band anywhere. They look more like very uncomfortable unconnected ear attachments? 

Today there's not much news at all unless you wanna go check the Daily Explorer and make a Jupiter mosaic out of beans or something, so I've included 9 nonmember clothing ideas for you today. Just FYI, they'll seem sucky because A, I'm nonmember, and B, I don't have many clothing items. These are meant for nonmembers who are having trouble with the limitations on items available for them, so it's mostly just going to be color-based. 

Also I like to give each idea a really dumb name, so be warned.

Autocorrect + Heart Bracelet!

Hey Jammers, happy February! The new item of today is sold in Jam Mart Clothing. :D

FUN FACT: Amethyst is traditionally associated with healing, steadiness, and calm. :)

In other news, I was talking with my friend this morning on AJ and I had to leave for a minute to go check my email. When I came back, I said, well, "Baack!" but found it was autocorrected to a sad, plain "back"

I wonder why AJHQ implements near-useless things into the game such as autocorrect while my buddy list glitch is still going and I still have no idea when the last time my friends were on was.
