The Effects Of Global Warming – Too Soon

You probably know what global warming is. It's when the constant release of greenhouse gas slowly heats up the average temperature and begins to deteriorate the ice caps and overflow into the ocean.

Some people choose not to believe in it, but the evidence is/has been much too overwhelming to ignore.

If you don't believe me, take this new study into consideration:
By the year 2080 coastal regions of the USA will be completely underwater including Boston, Texas, Miami, Florida, and New York. Not just the USA of course, things are not looking good at all for any coastal regions anywhere.
Even if people in North America completely stopped contributing to Global Warming from today on, the effects will be inevitable. Basically, we can do close to nothing to stop this from happening.

Of course this will be gradual; water will slowly claim beaches and boardwalks but then progress to cities, towns, roads, and wildlife.

Just so you know...

From a recent biking challenge, 207 people biked 100,701 miles, saving
  • 688.1 pounds of hydrocarbons
  • 5,105.6 pounds of carbon monoxide
  • 218.5 pounds of volatile organic compounds
  • 91,401 pounds of CO2
These statistics are real from a real challenge.

Also...

"The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that each passenger vehicle in the U.S. generates on average 4.8 metric tons of CO2 every year, not accounting for emissions resulting in damage to the vehicle and local infrastructure, along with the actual production of fuel. The European Cyclists Federation, however, puts CO2 emissions from biking at about 10 times less than driving a car (PDF), even after accounting for the emissions required to make the bike and emissions linked to food the rider eats to power the device."

I hope you can understand now that global warming is not at all a myth and that you should play your part in it so it does not completely wash away all life to the bottom of the ocean.

Daily Item: Pet Spider Plushie

Hi jammers! Nothing much new today excluding the predicted new item, but something to really be excited about is that the biweekly update is tomorrow!

But let's focus on today, for now.

Sold right next to it's larger version in the carnival for a 500 gem difference.

I was thinking about doing something different: "advertising" your digital AJ parties. I'm not what you call internet famous, but I have a few followers that I can get the word out to them to popularize your events a little more.

How it would work is that you can comment with the basic information (when, where, etc.) and I could post it up for others to see. I think I'll even make a separate page for parties, if you want.
Is this a good idea? Please comment! :)

Also, you will see an additional post up later with a more serious subject. If you have the time, please read it.

See you in Jamaa!

Daily Item: Giant Spider Plushie!

Hey jammers! It took a while for me to find the new item, as I completely forgot to check the Summer Carnival!

Note to self, always check the carnival...

This is probably as big as the giant raccoon plushie or any of the other giants.
This plushie's smaller relative is sure to be in stores tomorrow, so fellow nonmember spider-lovers will get to put one in their den! :)

Please tell me that I'm not the only one who likes spiders...

please...

Now, in other news regarding the relatively new adventures...

The button on the party menu for them still says "BETA" on it. While there's always the large possibility that they just forgot to remove it, another circumstance could be that the adventures really are still in beta testing. That would mean that you haven't really seen the actual adventures, which could be even better!
I'm probably incorrect, but it's an idea!
What are your thoughts?

Also, from the results gathered from the pointless poll that used to be to the right of the blog, I will change my blogger name to my most frequently used account, which is: Quintanna
If you want to send Quintanna a buddy request, feel free to do so. I will usually accept unless that annoying Buddy List glitch removes you.

See you in Jamaa! :)

Daily Item: Fox Plushie

Hi jammers! The new item of the day is a carnival prize, and judging from yesterday's, I think you know what it is already!

The smaller, more to-scale version of the pet fox plushie. You could probably fit two or three on a small corner shelf. Or one of these and an action figure.

Well, with the start of August, school is nearing, with it's sharp talons unsheathed, and it's daunting glare set upon us all, counting the seconds until we have to face ourselves against it in another furious battle lasting ten months...
Sorry.
I don't like school much, as you can tell.
Anyway, school is starting up for me soon. This summer really just flew by! Time flies when I'm bored. The trick is to not look at the clock unless you have to, and read a lot to get your mind off the days you've "wasted." I put "wasted" in quotations because "Time enjoyed being wasted is not wasted time." which was probably my motto for these three short months.
This is the second summer in which I've had this blog. I honestly didn't think I'd even stick around this long! My original idea was that school would cause me to lose interest and click the "delete blog" button without a second glance.
At least that didn't happen! It's been fun writing for you, it really has. Sometimes it's a burden, but most of the time it's really fun to be heard and critiqued, and even get mindless hate comments!
Anyway, as the usual case is whenever september's around the corner, I will not be posting as early. I will post, but maybe on some days if I have too much homework, I'll probably take a day off from posting.
I'm not stopping this blog though!
Not today!
Not yet!

Thanks for reading, see you in Jamaa!
