Finals Time!

Hey Jammers! You've probably noticed that I haven't posted all month so far, and that's because... it's finals time. For me, at least.

I wanna be able to concentrate enough so I can finish my semester off strong, so I'm not sure if I'll be posting much at all this month. If I somehow find time and get a random boost of motivation, I might write up a post before May, but it's probably unlikely ^^;

Because I won't be posting for a while longer... I think I'll let you know a bit more about that big upcoming post I hinted at, so you can have something to (hopefully) look forward to.

Basically, it's all about how to create a completely unique color palette/design for your animal that gets mathematically determined by the number of characters in your username, animal name, favorite color, etc. (nothing too personal of course)

So if you're tired of decorating your animal based on what looks good and would rather it be based off of random number combinations, this will be the post for you! X)

...

C'mon, I'm an Animal Jam blogger. I have to come up with content somehow :P

The difficult part is coming up with easy equations that have an equal chance of yielding every color and pattern. I've already made a lot of progress, but I still have a ways to go before this next post is finalized!

(Trust me, it'll make more sense when it's done)

Does this sound boring? Maybe a little fun? Let me know what you think about this! And until then...

See you in Jamaa!

  2. Heehee, that's a cute graphic you made! AGH finals! What a burden among young, growing minds X(

But I completely understand where you're coming from, and I hope your semester finishes out ok!

OoOo, that's an EXCELLENT post idea!! I'm so excited to read it! I love how each jammer's color and pattern will most likely be unique, and it can represent each jammer individually! I LOVE THAT X)

    1. Glad you like the graphic! Preview on Mac works REALLY well for making things transparent so it's fun to play with :3c

And I'm happy you're excited for the post! The idea came to me while I was thinking about how indecisive I am about my panda's look and I wondered about how I could randomize it. I'll be getting it out as soon as I can!

Thanks for the good wishes, Popcornio <3 hehe

    2. Hai, Doomy! c:

I am currently working on your animal edit, and was wondering if you have any specific clothing items you want on your panda! (Your current outfit is just a plain panda) Just let me know :)

    3. Yeah I've been really indecisive about how I want my panda to look, haha

Hmm.. maybe just a blue necklace and scary cat hat!

Thank you for making this by the way (>^-^)>
I wanna try making some edits at some point too, it seems fun!

  3. Hey, no worries! Wow, I'm glad I'm on spring break. Good luck with your finals! I just finished mine, if mine even qualify as finals - I mean it was just ONE presentation, ONE quiz, and ONE assessment. That's nothing compared to what you're doing (I assume college comes with loads of work?)

Ohhhh so that's why you had to do math!!! The very thought of coming up with an equation like that sends shivers down my spine. Mathhhhhh.... that one assessment had to be on MATHHHHHH the day I made the HORRIBLE mistake of staying up to draw... ok enough about that. It sounds AWESOME and I CAN'T WAIT to read it :D :D

    Good luck again!

    1. Thank you Wild!!! Yeah, college does come with a load of work xD

I struggle so bad with math, but I think the math having to do with Animal Jam makes it a little less stressful to me because it feels more fun than pointless ^^

    2. Math is pointless to me sometimes. Well certain parts of math. Parts such as "COMPLETE THE SQUARE FOR SOLVING THIS QUADRATIC EQUATION" or "SOLVE THIS SYSTEM OF EQUATIONS WITH ELIMINATION WHEN YOU HAVE ALREADY GRAPHED IT"

However I do agree that math that has to do with something I love is a lot better. One weird thing about me is that if you throw the name of one of my friends into a word problem, I will spend as much time as I need to solve it. Maybe so if the answer is ridiculous, I can tease them about it.

"Hey [insert friend here], why did you want to hang a picture DIRECTLY IN THE CENTER OF THE WALL? You made me solve this awful word problem because you needed to find the center of a 7'x8' wall!"

Back to the topic... you said something about wanting to find "easy equations that have an equal chance of yielding every color and pattern"... which leads me to wonder, did you find any... difficult equations that fit that criteria? Just wondering...

I'm going way too off-topic and using too many ellipsis, so I'll end the comment here.

~Wild, who should probably find a sleep schedule because it's past 11 PM

    3. I can relate with math feeling pointless... It can be the hardest class for me to grasp because it feels like every time I finish a semester of math, I just completely forget everything I learned and have to re-learn it the next time I have to do it.

But that's funny that having a friend's name in a problem makes you want to solve it more! I can relate in a way-- if there's a math problem involving real-world stuff, drawing the different parts of the problem makes it a bit more fun to solve. Like if a problem involves 20 apples, I will draw every single apple >:) (if I have time of course haha)

To answer your question... almost! What's mostly been hard to navigate around is the fact that certain animals have more pattern options available to them and it isn't always consistent. Pandas have maybe 10 or 9 pattern options, seals have about 16, polar bears have 16... but penguins have 17 for some reason.

But don't worry, I'll find a way to make it work >:3
