Odd Seal Glitch + Upcoming Earth Month?

 Hey Jammers! This is gonna be a really quick post. I'm actually currently working on a much bigger post, and it's requiring me to do a lot of research and math. Yes, MATH xD

For now, I'll let the subject of this upcoming post remain secret, but I'll give you a couple of hints:

• It's not a topic I've previously mentioned

• It involves a fun AJ activity you'll be able to do!

Anyway, moving on... today I discovered something pretty weird about seals:

Even though this blotch pattern is an option you can choose from while you're making your seal look pretty, it... doesn't actually show up for some reason o_o

In fact, if you try to put a blotch pattern on your seal and hop, this thing happens:

You turn all one color! A much darker shade of the blotch color you selected, to be precise. 

I have no idea how long this glitch has been around, but I think it's crazy that I'm only just learning about it now. C'mon DoomyPanda, have you been living under a rock all these years?

I hope AJHQ makes blotches on seals show up one day, or at the very least removes them from seals at some point. If they don't even show up, then why get people's hopes up by including them as a pattern option? 

In other news, it looks like some Earth-related stuff is about to go down next month:

Whoa, I don't know how fantastic this will actually end up being, but this looks like good news! AJHQ is promising in-game content and fun Daily Explorer challenges. I hope they mean to distribute that in-game content between both AJC and AJPW, but maybe we'll finally be seeing an expansion of the eco-point system. 

And maybe... just maybe... we'll get an eventful AJC update for once. 

I'm not gonna get my hopes up too high, but who knows what'll happen! Everything is always changing, so there's always room to hope for better days :)

I don't know about you, but I've been feeling super motivated about AJ and my blog today. I have some school stuff due soon but all I wanna do is post XD

I'm gonna try to fit both in this evening...

    That's a neat glitch! I've never purchased a seal before, actually. I kinda wish they flopped more... it looks disturbingly unnatural in my opinion o_o
    But enough about flopping seals heehee

    I'm excited about the upcoming Earth month, too! I'm not sure if AJHQ puts out this kind of post every year around Earth Day, but the promised "fun" and "challenges" sounds pretty cool to me :')

    I now must go attempt to make a car prototype for my dreaded engineering pre-spring break project... -_-

      Yeah, seals in real life tend to flop and scoot themselves around a lot more X)
      On AJ, they almost seem like they're gliding instead. But I think they're still cute in their own way c:

      Maybe they did do an April 2020 Earth Day thing, but I think a whole Earth Month is a first!

      Good luck on your car prototype! I remember I had to make a tiny solar powered car thing for school once... it was stressful lol

      Good luck with that, Popcorn! I just finally finished my engineering air filter presentation XD

      I was gonna post today but those plans went out the window the moment my prototype (when I was still testing) blasted black pepper into my face today and my right eye still hurts haha

    Man, I'm glad I didn't use the splotch pattern for my "main" look on AJ.. that would've been DISASTROUS!

    I hope AJHQ keeps their promise. Frankly, even as an AJPW player (cough ajhq when are chromebooks gonna be included cough), I've been kinda disappointed since I'm literally only seeing domesticated animals. Part of why I loved AJ so much in 2019 was seeing all the cool animals I'd never heard of! :T

    And Earth challenges do sound fun. Remember that air filter prototype I mentioned in a reply to popcorn? I could only use recycled materials... hopefully no one finds out I was the one who stole the pancakes box from the recycling box XD

    And yeah, that obviously didn't work because my eye is pretty much out of commission. At least I can still see haha...

    I would like it if challenges that benefit the environment appeared on the daily explorer (such as my engineering one. Air filters and reusing materials are pretty cool), but hopefully other jammers don't get pepper sprayed into their faces.

    P.S. When were eco items introduced again? Was it AJHQ's "earth day celebration" for last year? Honestly every day feels the same to me sometimes.

      I don't actually know if the splotch pattern was more recently taken away or was just never available-- do you remember actually being able to put the splotch pattern on your seal?

      Yeah.. I don't think the domestic animal trend will be forever, but I can imagine it's annoying :\ AJHQ gotta release platypuses or something...

      I remember that the splotch pattern definitely existed because I remember scrolling past it, thinking that it looked bad (oh if only I knew). I learned about it from my friend's YT channel. I think she released that video in about late 2019...

      Me too. I think good animals for AJHQ to release would be endangered animals or just animals no one has heard of! Maybe a whale, ferret, or the wild cattle in Asia! I doubt AJHQ will choose to release an Amur Leopard or something because we already have leopards :T (I just had an awesome idea: the make an endangered animal contest, where you customize colors and patterns on an already existing animal in AJ to create an endangered animal.)

      I don't know, but I saw a few self-care tips on the Daily Explorer and a few word search type things there too. I hope there's more than that - but at least there's the cool tips to help the environment in the Jamaa Journal in AJPW.

      But I submitted an item design to AJHQ. Sadly, I wasn't able to screenshot it (oh, I didn't know that AJHQ WOULD DELETE IT AFTER I CLICKED SUBMIT!) I hope that it gets chosen not because I want myself to win but because I feel like we need something more Earth-y and less... synthetic/neon in the game. It was an "Earth Necklace" - a brown cord with an Earth pendant on it. I'm imagining natural materials for the necklace and now I want it even more XD even though material probably won't matter in the world of AJPW.

      And I'm silently wishing that if AJHQ does release it they won't transform it into a sharp, pixelated, NEON item.

      Ok now this is getting off topic... and long! My eye is fine now :)

      Ooo I'd love to see some more endangered animals on AJ! Whales would be great to see, and maybe a kind of large endangered snake. In that case, AJHQ could raise awareness about the cruelty of the pet trade with snakes like that-- In general, I wish AJHQ would use animals they release to raise awareness about important stuff like that ^^

      Welp, I didn't really expect that much so far of AJ, but it's good that they're doing something even if its small

      Your idea for an Earth Necklace reminds me of something that I made a couple of years ago! I used some natural clay I found in a park to make a little circle, painted an Earth on it, and braided a brown hemp cord through it to use it as a necklace :D

      I might still have it with me, so maybe I'll post a photo of it here sometime!

    I learned that seal glitch from a livestream, a couple months ago, maybe? Everyone turned into seals and started hopping, and sure enough, they turned colors. I was amazed and they all taught me how to do it. So yeah. lol.

    I can't think of any 'fun aj activities' other then blogging and AJMVs because I can't get on... about half the bloggers I KNOW are Chromebook players. Me, Wild, Tkaranto, and Vai sometimes.

    Also you can stop saying 'sig edited from help with Dogo' XD

      Wow. I wonder if this glitch is sort of new, then? It doesn't seem like it should be recent, cuz seals have been around for a long time and I don't think that blotch pattern was ever usable to them.. hmm..

      Aaah, sorry Dogo >.< the next post IS about an in-game thing for AJC, but I think it would be possible for me to do a post after that one that shows you how to do the same thing in AJPW. It might take a while, but I think I should do it because so many people are only able to be on AJPW now.

    p sure the seal glitch has been around for a long time. like a few years i think. cant believe they still havent fixed it LOL
