Update + News from Clark Stacey + Question

Hey Jammers! Today was the update, and the next Wild Weekend came with it. Let's see what this one is all about:

New My Shop storefronts! All member's only, naturally, but they look kinda nice.

I'm sure the Floating Fantasy Shop is the favorite of most people (me included). It reminds me of the Fantasy Castle den!

Goats are here! I don't know when they left, but they're back in the Diamond Shop.

The gigantic Beach House is back for the season, as well~

Full-screen mode is here for browser AJ! I tried it out and...

It made the screen slightly bigger, and my already pixelated wolf even more pixelly.

It's probably a different result with other browsers– I think mine may be outdated somehow lol

The old timey 'Fairtime Fun' bundle of den items and clothing items has come to Jamaa:

Reminds me a lot of Mary Poppins

This specific bundle theme is interesting in how specific and unexpected it is. Hmm...

We were right guys, camels are coming to Jamaa! Hopefully they won't look like an obvious edit of the llama.

I wonder when an animal that will have to be designed from the ground up will come– like the hippo, a snake... or a platypus X)

Lastly, the Summer Eggstravaganza pets have been revealed! There's been a lot of creativity with these pets, I've noticed. So many different kinds... it's probably easier to do animations with pets because they have a limited amount of accessories to accommodate.

Alright! Now that we're done with the Jamaa Journal, let's get to some clearance items.

Jam Mart Clothing

Jam Mart Furniture

Outback Imports

Conservation Museum

Epic Wonders

I went to every land shop (I don't have an underwater animal right now) and I also found a couple items in the Appondale Pet Shop that I think everyone forgot about:

I think these were part of the relatively recent summer vacation den item theme.

Before I go, I wanted to share some nice news!

Shoutout to Difficult of the Animal Jam Timber for bringing the attention of Animal Jam's CEO, Clark Stacey, to the lack in educational content in Animal Jam.

Clark responded!! And he said they'll work on it!! Hopefully he means it.

I had sent an Instagram message to Clark Stacey a while ago about this same issue and never got a reply, so I guess he's more active on Twitter.

And another thing...

What do you guys think about this idea?

If it happened, Epic Wonders might get a little more crowded, but I think it makes sense to have one source of "epic" items– it's already selling Diamond items like Peck's Easel.

Also, I just really miss Club Geoz (and the Play Wild Party) and I think it's such a tragedy that it got replaced by Alpha HQ, which I think is so big it feels out of place in Jamaa Township.

Of course, I don't doubt that some people would miss the Diamond Shop. It is a pretty room, so that's why I'm wondering how Jammers would feel about it.

Comment your ideas, and see you in Jamaa!

Constant Animal Glitch/Error?

Hey Jammers! Sorry I didn't post on the 7th like I semi-promised with my post-every-other-day goal. I've been cleaning, drawing, reading, and other stuff that doesn't directly involve AJ :P

For this post, I thought I would come up with some minimal-item nonmember clothing ideas– minimal, because I don't have many clothing items in the first place lol

I got through the first two, which I'll post below, but then I started to notice a really irritating visual glitch...

So I took a screen capture video of the glitch that I wanted to turn into a gif, but  that was too complicated... so here's the plain video. I hope it works, because you're not gonna notice it otherwise!

Really hoping it works. Looks like it won't XD

To describe the glitch, I'd say it makes the whole animal more pixelated, and as they move, parts of patterns and eyes periodically disappear and reappear.

I can't figure out what causes this. I logged out, back in, and changed animals, but my animal still looks all glitchy!

You might be able to notice something about my panda:

Countess has a white border all around her where it shouldn't be. So, this glitch is experienced by all animals. Have you noticed it?

I went onto another browser to see if it's a browser-specific thing, and...

Nope. You can see a line above Countess's left eye where it shouldn't be, and she just generally looks too pixelated -_-

Ok, I get that it's subtle... but it's so annoying once you notice it! Aaaaaaaaa

Hopefully AJHQ fixes it. Hopefully.

Sorry this post was so short, I can't focus with this dumb glitch :\

Future Wild Weekend items...?

Hey Jammers! We have another Wild Weekend on our hands, so let's see what it's about...

Woohoo! I like this version of a Wild Weekend (unreleased items) as opposed to the ones that have happened in past summers where completely new (and not always interesting) items were released.

I think the For Trade sign is especially useful for nonmember den item shops (though it would make more sense if the For Sale one was also nonmember)

Still, you might notice something interesting about the signs if you look closely...

Even though the Wolf Mecha is identical on both the Jamaa Journal page and in the shop, the signs are different!

In the Jamaa Journal, the signs are on smoother posts and have a subtle gradient. In the shop window, the posts are a little bumpy and the sign is just one solid red color.

I had remembered seeing the For Trade/Sale on the Animal Jam Wiki a year or two ago (these were actually unreleased leaked items), so I tried to go back to see if the image looked more like the Jamaa Journal version or the sold version... but alas, the original image had been replaced.

As for which sign I like better... I have a thing for gradients, because they are a key feature of beta items as I discussed in this post

Still, I'm not gonna turn this into another thing to be picky about. We got enough of that here on Animal Jam Stream XD

Welcome to Doomy's Thrifty Trades! Everything on sale for one Necklace... or less!

I was in Sarepia Theater when my buddy Infinity Magictoucan showed up, so I asked them about this new Wild Weekend:

I agree, Infinity.

We also talked about the Jammers who hacked/data-mined Animal Jam's files to look for images of unreleased items– which is how images of the For Sale/Trade signs got to the Animal Jam Wiki in the first place.

I don't believe anyone actually hacked the items into the game before they were released, but still, it's really against AJ's rules to even go looking for images.

Even still... there are a ton up on the Animal Jam Wiki. And it's interesting to look at them and wonder if they'll be the next Wild Weekend:

I wonder if those animal banners will ever come back to shops, and banners of newer animals will be made.

What do you think will happen during the next Wild Weekend?

See you in Jamaa~

Hidden AJ Music Lyrics

Hey Jammers! Today I'm just gonna be making this post up as I go along XD

A couple of days ago, Violet AJ of the Animal Jam Legendary Palooza blog tagged me, asking the question: What voices/words do you hear in Animal Jam music?

I actually got something to say about that– a discovery that I haven't seen talked about yet, that is, but first I'll go over all of the AJ songs Violet listed.

(YouTube videos with soundtrack linked so you can also listen! Comment any ideas!)

HEY HEY HEY H-HEY HEY SPARKY
HEY H-HEY CAN I GET A
woop woop

HEY SPARKY
CAN I GET A
woop woop
HEY SPARKY

YAAAAAAAAAAAYYY
wooooo
wooooo

1234!!!!!

1... 2... 3... 4...
1234!!!!!

I love Animal Jam!
THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

*Note: For all these years I thought it said "Sparky" but listening now I think it's obvious it says "Buddy"

Ohhh yeeeeaah, we got it higher
Ohhh yeeeeaah, we got it higher

Why you why

Flo rida flo rida
Flo rida flo rida

*Note: I'd tell you the actual lyrics that I just learned now but I think I'll stop doing that because it's more fun to just hear different interpretations :P

Next up, I'm gonna choose something that isn't all music because I can't help but hear all kinds of weird things in it.

Voice 1: Oh my god
Voice 2: Help me!!! I can't walk [something I can't hear clearly] my leg

Announcer voice: Better watch your weight! Do I look like I worry about getting [something I can't hear clearly] Don't walk away from me! Hey dad! Hey dad! [something I can't here clearly] Hey, don't look back I'm over here!!! [something]

Another voice: I don't speak Spanish!

Announcer voice: Not my kid, that's YOUR kid!

*Note: Most of the voices I couldn't understand, but those are the ones above that were clearest.

My theory about this audio is that the outside speaking was recorded at an actual fair and the announcer person is one of those dunk tank clowns who taunt passerbys with a megaphone to get you to play the dunk tank game.

I know this because I went to a fair once, and it must have been a slow day at the dunk tank because when I passed by it the clown called me a lizard person XD

I literally cannot make out any voices

...But, I do have something to say about the Club Geoz track.

There are two versions: the original one that was in the actual Club Geoz, and the new one that can be heard in the den music for Club Geoz.

The new version is exactly the same... but it has a part inserted into it containing a phrase and some more techno-y percussion.

Hey!!!
Yay!!!

Kid: DJ DJ DJ DJ...
DJ DJ DJ DJ...
DJ DJ DJ DJ...
DJ DJ DJ DJ...

Kid: This DJ so funky, man!

Robot-filtered voice: Why don't you have more co-lor, make it baby

Kid: D-D-D-DJ

*In bold is the new phrase. It's hard to make out, but it's definitely saying something. I'm most confident that "Why don't you have" is definitely there, but the rest is hard to decipher. "Make it baby" could also be "naked baby" but I'm hoping it's not lol

I wonder if it's actually something in another language, or maybe even backwards. It seems so odd that AJHQ would insert a new phrase into the den music.

If you're wondering how I listened to the AJ soundtrack for this post, everything's up on YouTube.

Because this is a tag game, I have to tag someone now, right?

I tag...

Rainbow000Pegasus!

What voices/words do you hear in Animal Jam's music?

(An audio track I didn't cover that I know has some kind of speaking in it is the Jam Mart music)

---

Before I go, here are some ideas I've had for the blog for awhile that I don't want to forget:

1. During a certain month (maybe the month when AJ came out of beta?) we can unofficially designate it as Animal Jam month. I've seen month long drawing/writing challenges where you get a different prompt every day of a month, so maybe we can come up with an AJ-related drawing prompt for every day of a certain month!

2. A more immediate plan I have is to make a couple test blogs to test out potential new layouts with the ultimate goal of making AJ Stream's design perfect.

Alright Jammers, see you tomorrow or the next day! I like posting every other day. ^.^

Fun with the Wayback Machine

Hey Jammers! I started this post thinking that I was going to talk about a few more old blogs, but now I realize that I've already featured all the blogs I have a lot to say about.

I don't want to just post a bunch of screenshots saying how much I liked the blog layouts, or how I miss the Jammers who ran them, because that will just go on forever. I also want to talk about other stuff, so I will conclude this series here.

But not before talking about a blog that might be even older than Animal Jam Rush...

...or at least, just as old. Or maybe a little less old.

Most old AJ blogs are still up on the internet, but the issue with this one (animaljamhq.com) is that it's no longer accessible. If you go to that URL you get an error message. I took the above screenshot in 2017 because it made me happy.

However, you can still experience this blog with the magic of the Wayback Machine! It was saved around 72 times (wow) so you can still go through the links, read posts, and whatnot. Of course, you can't comment or contact General Chillyjammer.

Here's the home page... very simple but honestly I love it :)

It's sites like these that make me conflicted: do I make Animal Jam Stream really graphic-heavy and pretty, or do I make it simple and nice to look at? I care way too much about my blog's design /).(\

A theme you may notice with a lot of older blogs is positivity. I've been told by my friend Gogreen16, who was in beta, that people in general were just friendlier. Maybe that's because the game wasn't as populated as it is now.

This caught my eye: the introduction of Best Dressed!

And that bunny looked familiar...

It's Blooming Gassychamp from the trading tutorial! I love it. X)

AJHQ, never get rid o' that tutorial. Why? Because it's nice, and it reminds me that not all of Jamaa is modernized to heck. Also it's just a clear tutorial.

Because I was curious, I also looked at the Nat Geo Kids website on the Wayback Machine. I went to 2011, back when most Jammers found out about the world of Jamaa through Nat Geo Kids. And back when Nat Geo had anything to do with AJ.

It's so beautiful :')

It seems weird but these kinds of websites bring out such positive memories. Discovering Animal Jam with my best friend was an amazing experience, but it's not about nostalgia anymore– it's just something that makes me happy.

I'm a little sad that some things on AJ have changed to a visual style that seems too slick, and that AJHQ has completely forgotten about some key aspects that make the world of Jamaa unique (learning about nature *cough*). But many things haven't changed much and they're still beautiful– the lands, some rooms, and tons of other stuff. I appreciate that.

As for the educational stuff... it's still there, it's just not emphasized enough in the Jamaa Journal. Honestly though, I could be Animal Jam's collector-of-educational-content, and I'd do it for free. I just don't know how I'd ask them that sort of thing.

Before I go, here's a Wayback Machine screenshot of my blog in May 2013:

I only got one word to say about this one:

Yeehaw
